CBeebies Playtime Island 4+

I hate to post this info in a review, but there is nowhere else to report a problem.

My daughter loves using Playtime Island, but there are a few glitches in the Waffle the Wonder Dog game that makes playing the game difficult and unable to complete. The bugs are in the game where waffle is trying to pick up and paintbrush, and also the game where he is trying to pick up a present - both items can not be interacted with, so you can’t pick them up and finish the game.

Everything else is wonderful, and we will continue to play the other games.

I used to have this game when I was younger and it was so good and all the games were great and I came back to see what it was like and you have completely changed it and made the minigames bad and the graphic awful. You took away all the good games and the good looking starting map and replaced them with games that look like they could have been made by a 7 year old. The main problem I have is the game was pretty much perfect before and by adding all these new updates you have downgraded all the original games to virtually unplayable compared to the amazingness the game was before. The teletubbie, muppet and swashbuckle games were iconic and perfect before but now you have turned it into funless games with graphics right out of my story animated (look it up if you don't know you plonkers).
PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK IT WAS PERFECT BEFORE AND NOW IT IS DOWNRIGHT UPSETTING TO PLAY WITH ALL THE MEMORIES OF WHAT IT ONCE WAS.

Hi, sorry you are disappointed with the app. The old CBeebies Playtime app was decommissioned because the technology that was used to build it is now outdated for many newer devices, and is not accessible for users with impairments. The older technology also means that Playtime is much bigger than similar apps, and takes up a lot of space on your device. From 2018, the Playtime app was no longer being supported technically.

This new layout of the playtime island is horrendous the only games that are actually enjoyable are the ones that were on the old app. Personally, I think some of the games should be replaced for the more funnier ones like you have to bring back the old swashbuckle board game!!! It was perfect I loved that game and now that it’s not here I struggle to find any game that won’t bore me within 3 minutes. Also in the old version picking your vehicle to travel to the island was so memorable but now it’s gone. I get that the old app took up a lot of space but can you just recreate some of the highlights of the old version and switch it with the boring parts of this version. With this version you have to download every game before you play it, and the narrator explaining to you is quite slow and annoying and you can’t even skip it, not even kids can enjoy this app!!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We changed the design of the island to make it even easier for children to find and play their favourite CBeebies games. Putting the CBeebies shows your child loves at the forefront of the app!

We have also added some great new features, such as the ‘My games’ treasure chest which lets you see all your child’s favourite games in one place. Once played and downloaded, these games can then be played offline, for those times when you need them to hand quickly!

A new settings feature allows you to reduce the amount of space Playtime Island takes up on your device by removing games that haven’t been played in a while.

Plus, we are continually adding new games to the app, and this update means that we can really celebrate new arrivals to the island and let you know they have arrived!
