No idea what Casio are doing!?

*EDIT*

I’ve just found out that the watch might have been in flight mode; Casio should start putting an instruction manual in with their watches instead of relying on people googling how to use their watches! If you’re having problems syncing to Bluetooth, make sure your watch isn’t in flight mode, one of the small dials will be pointing at a plane if it is. You can turn off flight mode by pressing the top left hand button for 5 seconds apparently.. whether or not this cures the problems everyone else is having I don’t know..

After just purchasing the gorgeous Edifice 501 watch, I downloaded the Casio Watch+ app and followed the instructions to pair the watch to iOS. The phone was sitting there waiting to receive comms but there seemingly was absolutely nothing being sent from the watch. I took the watch back to the retailers straight away only to be told that they receive loads of people saying the same thing! The app needs updating as it only works properly on older phones.. I got a refund on the watch and will stick to my none-Bluetooth Edifice for now. Come on Casio, get your act together or remove Bluetooth from your brilliant watches!

Casio deserve to fail!

I don’t know what the strategy is at Casio but their flagship watches are all marketed with Bluetooth connectivity as a big selling point and certainly the clincher for me, yet the app seems unreliable and poorly designed at best. It took several attempts to gain functionality with my previous iPhone6S and since buying the iPhone X, the watch has ceased to work even as a Watch and the app is unable to resolve this. Casio should have a team of people working round the clock to ensure such stability and yet the whole execution of this concept has the feel of a 12 year old in a bedroom somewhere. I sincerely hope their share price plummets!

Works well for me

Has always worked well with my EQB-500 & iPhone 6+, then SE2. Deleting the pairing info & then re-pairing was the only way to transfer to newer phone.

I like the simplicity of the App, and the fact that it’s easy to correct the time or switch to a new time zone by just connecting. Re-aligning the hands needs doing every now & then, but this is simple through the App. (App does everything I need it to).

I connect the watch to my phone when I turn Bluetooth on in my phone’s settings menu, then open the App once connected. I found it impossible to connect recently after installing & setting up the Casio Watches App with a new EQB-1200 - as the Casio Watches App seems to block the connection. Turning off Bluetooth to Casio Watches resolved the issue immediately (as that app seems to permanently use the Bluetooth).

Watch out for Airplane mode, as others say - our toddler put my watch in Airplane mode without me realising - and I couldn’t connect until I realised about it & turned airplane mode off.
