Carly — OBD2 car scanner 4+

I read that a few people are saying that the app doesn't work, or has its problems, or that it's too expensive etc. I'll provide an opinion to the contrary:

I've got a 2013 MINI Cooper 1.6D and I can tell you that this app is simply brilliant! I monitor my faults on a weekly basis (cleared a couple indications), and my DPF on a bi-weekly basis. I coded my auto-start/stop function to remember the last setting (so default option now is "off"... at least!), plus changed some key-related settings (windows opening) and daylights settings too. But, bu far the BIGGEST benefit for me is DPF monitoring and option to regenerate. I can monitor when my car asks for a regeneration, or, better, when it's close to needing one. In my car, passive regeneration doesn't work, even for 100-mile highway trips, unless I'm constantly in 4th gear having the RPMs above 3.5k! I simply force regenerate the car when it's above a threshold (in my car that's 14-15 grams of soot ~ 45% loaded), particularly when I'm coming home (otherwise I've had 4-5 cases where the DPF asked for a regeneration when I parked the car - although was driving 200 miles), or I could simply see if the car itself asked for one (regeneration status would be "4.00"). I had nightmares with not knowing when my DPF is getting full or close to being clogged (as I mainly drive in the city), but now I can control it! Thank you carly!!

Ok at first I had some issues and was really concerned …..I ordered a subscription to Renault as I have a master with some electrical faults ….it took ages to arrive and when it did it was the wrong adapter ! A first gen completely useless …. I felt straight away …. “It’s a scam “ …. I raised a lots of tickets in the app …… which took ages to reply then some of those reply’s didn’t respond to my responses and it became very frustrating …… however once I did get through to some one ….. they told me they had sent out another scanner .

1 week later the scanner arrived and it worked !…… with in 5 mins of it arriving , I was diagnosing my van issues and that day solved my issues that had previously cost me lots .

I have seen lots of people complaining and saying it’s a scam ….. I would say “keep going as it’s not and as for the tool it’s self and the app there brilliant “ .

Since diagnosing my van issues I’ve unlocked the full vehicle version £74 and I’ve helped my friends with there issues too .

It seems like a lot of money but I’ve saved money as a auto electrician coming out again would of cost me hundreds !.

The customer service does work eventually but you have to be patient .
Hence the 1 star missing .

But I would recommend them at this point … once unlocked the features are great are really brilliant .

A fun app if you want to tinker with your car. It wasn’t working on my Audi Q3 then realised you have to have the boot open for it to work. The hidden features aren’t that exciting. If you’re looking for stuff like ACC and traffic sign recognition or anything advanced, it probably won’t be there. You’re only activating what’s already installed on the car but turned off. It’s not installing anything. Just changing a parameter from off to on. So the fancy stuff is missing. I’ve managed to make my wing mirrors dip when I go into reverse and add a sweep effect to the speed dial. That’s it. Most of the stuff is setting brightness of various lights. The health report is a good thing to have and gives reassurance. I’m happy over all. But I’d give it another star if you could download additional codings that aren’t already on the car and install them like you can with some other more expensive devices.
