Description
The FUTÁR application by BKK Centre for Budapest Transport has been renewed under the name BudapestGO, which, in addition to real-time route planning, has been extended with new functions: you can buy digital single tickets, daily and weekly travelcards or passes in the application and you can also be informed immediately about the current transport service changes. You can use the route planner with a cleaner and clearer interface, facilitated by a number of new features.
New features in the app:
- Ticket and pass purchase, journey planning in a single app
- Digital single ticket now also available
- Automatic pass renewal
- Traffic information (BKK Info application integrated)
- Personalised transport updates via push message
- Trip planning for trains and suburban railways available with a BKK-pass
- Simplified interface
- You can buy local or intercity tickets and passes for most municipalities in Hungary.

Fantastic way to get around
I have travelled extensively in Europe and can say this is by far the best and easiest app to use for public transport.
Comprehensive information, including live tracking and you can buy all your tickets in the app. Way ahead of almost all other capital cities!
It would be 5* if it integrated with Apple Pay as the payment process was a little bit more difficult than ideal but other than that I really can’t fault it 🤩
Download it now and miss your trip to Budapest even more enjoyable than it already will be

Good when it works but when it doesn’t……
Have been using the app for a while and it has been very convenient until the last time when it would block all card payment with an error message. Arrived to the airport 1:10am. Ran for the bus trying to buy a ticket for 100E and the app would just not work. I am panicking because I hardly ever carry cash. On the timetable the bus had 10 more minute so I am asking the driver to give me a minute I restart the app. The driver was hurrying me to leave immediately. Guess what, it is either forint in cash for 1500huf (about 3£) or if you have only $ or EUR or £ it’s a fiver. No card machine on board obviously. So be prepared and always have cash just in case this app lets you down.

Sorry for the inconvenience! If you are experiencing the error, please check if you have updated your phone to the latest app version, iOS: 5.15.0. In case of further problems, please record the error in the error reporting interface that appears when you shake your device and send us your name and email address registered in the BudapestGO app along with your BKK ID. Must have app for travellers to Budapest
I enjoy using the app to travel within Budapest. It's easy to understand and use. If you are traveling to Budapest, make sure to do the setup (ie add your billing details) before you leave the airport.
In my opinion, I think it'd be better to pay by using Apple pay ( because billing details are already filled), hope that the app developer will add this in the future
