Hotel review

Second stay in this hotel it’s lovely, staff are really friendly & helpful. Rooms are lovely view from sea view rooms is fantastic. The reception has little area that you can get a glass of cold water with fruit inside it. Really nice & refreshing especially on arrival.
1. Only 3 minor issues. Only 1 English Channel( news)we asked at reception but they said that’s all we have.
2. We usually take our own beach towels but decided this time to get from hotel. Took our token to bar on the day we arrived to be told sorry no towels available come back in 15 minutes which I did to be told still none come back in 20 mins which I did yet again still no towels barman said go to reception & complain this might speed up the guys in the laundry. I said it’s fine we’ll just need to wait. Barman was really nice & apologetic he gave us a free drink.
3. Had a bottle of Prosecco in our room. Poured a glass out & realised I needed to nip out. When we came back maid had cleaned the room she took the bottle of Prosecco away & emptied the glass. ☹️. We’ve booked to come back next year again as location is perfect.

Simple and genuinely useful app.

This app has been great.

It really facilitated communication between my wife and I as guests and the hotel staff.

Late yesterday evening we realised that one ceiling light was not working and that the TV appeared to have no English language channels.

The app allowed me to choose to report a lighting fault. I was able to describe the fault and it then offered me the option to send a photo of the fault.

It then allowed me to select to report a problem with the TV in the same way, only this time I didn’t bother to send a photo.

Within about 20 minutes a maintenance worker arrived and resolved the faults completely.

This morning my wife used this app to request and additional towel which also arrived rapidly.

Some may say, “You could have phoned reception/housekeeping for all those”, and they’re right. But with this app I didn’t need to know the “correct” person to phone, and because I was able to report the fault directly it cuts out the middleman: no “list in translation”, no chance of busy staff forgetting to relay reports on to the correct people and no waiting for them to answer the phone if they’re busy serving others.

The app also acknowledges reports, tells you who it’s been referred to, and then advises of progress and completion.

Lanzarote occidental playa

I stayed at the Occidental playa, this hotel has had a complete facelift. It is nice and modern rooms are a nice size lots of space. Wardrobes built into the sink area of the bathroom separate from the shower and toilet. The pool and surround was kept immaculate. This hotel does not have a beach front however a few minutes and 3.50 euros you are at a beach with shops and restaurants. The busses stop right outside the hotel and is only a very short ride to the beach for 1.50 euro. All the main towns can be reached by the bus service. Food was ok but then I am a very picky eater breakfast was lovely. I enjoyed this the most. On site gourmet restaurant which was very nice.
