Baking Soda is a Safari extension that replaces custom video players (except the YouTube player) with a minimal HTML video tag.
Baking Soda is more basic than Vinegar. Unlike Vinegar, Baking Soda doesn't block ads or let you switch the video quality. If Baking Soda doesn't work on certain websites, you can easily disable it in the settings.
Note: The "can read information from webpages" text in the permission section is just unfortunate wording. Baking Soda needs access to the web page to find video players and replace them. It's not doing anything creepy!

Essential Safari Extension
An essential safari extension for browing the web these days. Once enabled in the safari extension options, it makes all videos html only - which saves battery and prevents ads from getting in the way. it also makes many sites work with Airplay that otherwise just do not work.

Great app as title says. I don’t have a mastodon account so requesting this here:
Please add support for using baking soda when previewing YouTube videos in the safari app, as safari still seems to be using the default YouTube player as I am still receiving ads. By previewing I mean the page you land on when clicking on the thumbnail of a YouTube video in safari.
Stopped working
It was working fine but lately it either doesn’t activate or if you try to disable it doesn’t disable until you disable the extension itself. In essence its unusable especially since its not actually working when it’s active and all permissions granted.
