Ratings and Reviews
Helpful app. UI needs improvement
This is a very useful and helpful app to adjust the sound of my Denon AVR x2800h. I believe, it’s a must have!
However, the UI should be improved with portrait orientation support, as well as better curve editing options like being able to delete an added point by simply tapping on it, or perhaps it should be fixed if broken.
Works beautifully and amazing control of the sound
I was unsure if I should spend £20 on this app because of so many negative reviews, however I have to say it’s brilliant. Connecting to my Cinema 50 AV receiver was flawless and very quick.
The guided microphone placement and measurement is very simple to do and again the results were excellent. It turned my boomy, echo riddled room into a recording studio environment giving an almost perfect flat response across the entire frequency range.
The best feature of the app however is the target curve editor, you have full control to tailor the sound curve exactly to your liking giving you the power to control what you hear. The only limitation is going to be you in deciding what you want and understanding a bit about frequency ranges.
My personal recommendation is to take the recommended curve and just add a little drop on all the speakers around 8K.
Overall if you want the best from your new AV receiver this is a “no brainier” just buy it, and as an added bonus it saves spending £300+ on the Dirac add on which from personal experience of Dirac would not add anymore than you can achieve with this app.
3700h built in is better
According to my ears and feel of my sub. The built in software gives a flatter response, this app cuts bass after 60hz. To me the only major thing this app has that the receiver doesn’t is the ability to turn midrange compensation off, but surely that can be a setting added into the receivers menu very easily if Denon listen to customers. So you’re basically paying £20 for one setting (mid range compensation). The price of this app is a joke. It’s really not worth it. Btw you can request refund on all app purchases within 14 days.
