2112TD: Tower Defence Survival 9+

Great TD

You don’t see TD games churning out of the AppStore like you use to so I had to take a closer look when this released. At first I wasn’t sure about the graphics from the screenshot as they are very 90’s but I grew up playing old C&C games so I guess I’m just use to it? They work perfectly well for the game and I don’t even notice really.

Now the game itself is really good, I love the variations in the towers and the upgrades/choices, the barrier and active abilities from you command centre and fully upgraded towers too! There’s a lot going on to keep you busy and it’s not a cake walk you can’t just plonk them down randomly and expect to win here.

TLDR if you like TD games then do yourself a favour and buy this, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve now completed normal mode and it’s been the most addictive game I’ve played in a while. So highly recommend.

Great throwback to tower defence games

This game is a great little nostalgic nod to a genre I hadn’t played in the best part of a decade - if you’re feeling an itch to build some towers and shoot hordes of slow-moving enemies I highly recommend it. Kudos also to the developers for not being greedy - no in-app purchases, just pay once and get the full game. Given what they’re charging for it it’s a steal.

A few minor niggles: I felt the mechanics of the drone could have been explained more clearly (it took me until nearly the end of the game to figure out why my drone missiles weren’t damaging flying enemies), and tapping the screen to fire missiles obscures your view of the field and quickly gets annoying. Also having one drone that shoots missiles *and* buffs your turrets simultaneously was confusing - these mechanics should have been split up IMO.

All in all though, excellent value for money and a great way to kill a few hours.

In our upcoming update (1.50) we have made some improvements to the drone UI and added some new SFX. It shouldn't be too long before the update arrives now :-)

Pretty great

So far I’m loving it. I feel that the artillery needs a big buff. Even fully upgraded I find it fairly useless. It shoots way too slow and doesn’t deal enough damage. I wish it was able to target the middle of groups rather than wasting shots on the lead enemy who is normally very low HP. I have tried to use them in various ways but just find myself selling them and replacing them with plasma turrets.

On the subject of buffing. I think the flame tower could use a 10% range buff and the MG could use a slight range nerf. These are not important though. The main problem is arty is pretty useless due to taking too long to fire and shots normally being wasted. The damage, fire rate and splash isn’t good enough to justify using them over other turrets.

Overall though the game is great. I look forward to seeing what you guys do with it. Hopefully new turrets and enemies. I also hope you really expand in the upgrades. This honestly is one of the best TD games out there. Love the autonomous base vs zombie/mutant atmosphere and map design.

Keep expanding on what you have. You found a formula that works.

You'll be pleased to hear In our next major content update there will be some additional research upgrades buffing some of the suggestions that you have made. Also don't underestimate the power of the artillery turret :-) It might fire slow but those uranium shells not only deal a lot of damage but also irradiate the ground making it very useful for eliminating large groups of enemies piling up at the command centre or the fortification wall. When playing survival, having 2-3 uranium artillery turrets is a good strategy for thinning out the weaker enemies. Thanks!
