The taxis are very strict on the number of passengers but the app doesn't let you specify how many. So basically it only works for 4 passengers or less..

I am just coming to the end of a two week holiday in the Algarve. I have used the app extensively. It is a little basic but it does the job.

It is dependent upon the local taxi companies and I have had two cabs cancel on me but was able to re-book within minutes.

As people have noted the app doesn’t let you get quotes but the taxis here run off the meter anyway so you pay whatever you would if you flagged one down.

In summary, this is a very useful app, bringing digital convenience to local taxi services, but it would benefit from some upgrades such as real time taxi location (you do get an indication of where the taxi is when it accepts your order, but it doesn’t often update to show you were the taxi is as it travels to you). Also the estimated time until the taxi picks you up isn’t very reliable. Finally, while the app knows where you are it will sometimes refuse to let you book - this happened once and I couldn’t figure out why.

I’ve booked taxi and it showed up in a different place. I’ve asked their office (phone call) to contact a driver about it. After that driver canceled my booking and didn’t showed up at all. I wanted to give them another chance and made a booking in the morning for a evening pick up. Nobody accepted a booking and nobody showed up. Just imagine if You want to book them for airport transport they will not show up and You miss a flight. Unacceptable. I would leave a 0 star if I could.

However, 1Taxi! does not own the taxi companies and hence cannot fully control them neither their drivers. However, we can contact the taxi company which not provided the taxi service to you and let them know about your issues so they can take decisions accordingly.
