What happened?

What happened to this game? I used to love it when it came out. Since a few years/updates this game is nearly unplayable. Where can I get rid of that annoying clapping sound whenever I hit a note? Why can't I access every mode before playing through that gameplay introduction? Where did the songs from the main pack go? And why are the new visuals and the interface so user unfriendly?
I love the songs though, it's sad what happened to it.
