Description
HID Mobile Access® merges security with convenience by enabling a smartphone or other mobile device to securely open a door or gate.
If you would like to start using HID Mobile Access® in your organization please visit http://www.hidglobal.com/services/mobile-access to learn more about the service and compatible readers. The App will only be useful to you once your organization has been setup with compatible readers and your security administrator can issue Mobile IDs.
To improve the door opening experience, we detect readers when the app is not open. Location Services is used exclusively for this purpose.

We are pleased to announce the release of HID Mobile Access v4.8.0. Below are the newly introduced features and enhancements:
Performance improvements: Significant performance enhancements have been made to the Tap gesture functionality at the door level, improving both responsiveness and reliability.
Upgrade options: Provides the ability to manage HID Mobile Access App updates through Forced or Optional upgrade options:
Forced upgrade: Mandatory updates for critical improvements and compatibility.
Optional upgrade: Flexible updates, allowing you to upgrade at your convenience while maintaining security.

Simple to use but one issue…
Requires location services set to always to be able to use without the app opened. I have tried every possible combination of settings, but always/always is the only way to get it to work. So it’s an inconvenience to have to unlock the phone and then open the app.
so slow and annoying
Our office switched to this app from physical key cards and it has been terrible. The mobile access takes so long to register against the sensors so you get stuck waiting in the hallway for a while. Very inconvenient and annoying day to day.
Terrible on iOS
The app is unreliable and inconsistent. Sometimes the reader recognizes the iPhone, sometimes it doesn’t. You have to hold the iPhone at a very specific angle and height on the reader to work (if it even detects it at all). If you hold it at an angle or height that is half a degree or millimeter off, it won’t work. The Apple Watch app is trash, it can only detect one reader, so if you are in an area with three different readers you can’t cycle to find the reader that you need to unlock. Also tou must access the Apple Watch app through a complication then unlock it (at minimum three taps on the screen), you cannot hold your watch to the reader to unlock or unlock using Apple wallet. Very poor design.
