Description
This is Artiphon’s companion app for Orba 2, Orba 3, and Chorda that lets you:
• Connect your Orba 2, Orba 3, and Chorda wirelessly using MIDI over Bluetooth
• Explore and play hundreds of new sounds, as well as change keys, and tunings
• Record entire songs and loops with Drum, Bass, Chord, and Lead parts
• Create your own instruments and sample any sound in the world
• Customize your sounds by adjusting individual part volume, add reverb and delay, and more
• Perfect your song by adding Quantize, which snaps your musical phrases to the beat so that every moment fits perfectly into the groove.
The Artiphon Connect app allows you to choose between over a hundred new audio-based presets. Including sounds inspired by genres like Trap, RnB, Electro-pop, Lofi, and more. With Artiphon Connect, you can now play instruments like electric guitars and upright pianos, as well as more adventurous sounds like vocals, found sounds, and custom artist songs. Imagine conducting an orchestra in the park with no strings attached and no screens required.
We’re also pleased to be enhancing our Drum sampling feature, which lets you sample your world and now supports up to 12 custom samples. Build your own drum kit and add custom samples to individual pads. And you’re not limited to drum sounds, by the way: you can turn your Artiphon instrument into your own sound effects board and DJ kit. This feature has been highly requested, so we expect some crazy creative setups from all of you!
You’ll also use your Artiphon Connect app to explore the new quantize feature, which snaps your musical phrases to the beat so that every moment fits perfectly into the groove. In addition, you’ll be able to mix the volume of your individual parts, add reverb and delay, and more.
This app is only compatible with Orba 2, Orba 3, and Chorda by Artiphon. If you are looking for the Orba 1 app, search for “Orba 1” in the app store.

We’ve reworked our main navigation bar, consolidating Sound Packs, Songs, and Sounds into one unified location: The Library! This makes it much easier to find a Song you worked on, try a new Sound Pack, or mix and match Sounds.
Explore improved filtering tools at the top of each page to quickly find exactly what you’re looking for.
• Want to see your own creations? Tap the "By You" filter.
• Browse Library content by artist—featuring fresh content from beatmakers, DJs, and more. Check out our newest addition, The Brothers Nylon Sound Pack!
• Looking for inspiration? Sort by "Starter Songs" to access templates with simple loops that jumpstart your creativity.
UI improvements: We’ve touched up the overall spacing and sizing for multiple screen sizes.
Ratings and Reviews
Good start
Has most of the essentials covered but could use improvements.
The bottom menu needs to be resized or redesigned to accommodate smaller phones like the iPhone 13 mini. Also why is it locked to portrait on the iPad? Who works like that? In short, if you’re using your iPad for creating music (many do apparently) or using your iPhone for sampling the app can by annoying. That being said, I love the Orba (both of them) and I’m looking forward to the app improving.
Personally I prefer Orba 1 app. Simple, easy to use, stable, and looks good on all my devices.

After navigating through the onboarding screen, the app should be correctly sized to your device. If not, please reach out to us at support@artiphon.com. iPad…
More of a question than a “review”. I see people in Artiphon online tutorials where they’ve got the Orba 2 app filling their iPad screen in landscape mode. As I just got my Orba, how do I change to this format?
Need tempo sync
Maybe midi tempo sync or something to sync with iPad or korg devices.
