WRR 101 App:
The all-new WRR app allows you to listen to live classical music from WRR 101.1, listen to and read on-demand content from KXT and NPR Music, and view the program schedule all at once. You can search for programs and wake up to WRR with the alarm clock. The app’s clean layout allows for easy navigation and the ability to switch between our three radio services, providing easier access to KERA News and music from KXT 91.7.
The WRR app is brought to you by the people at Public Media for North Texas and Public Media Apps. We work to provide our valued listeners with great solutions to find what you want, when you want it, and where you want it.

Ratings and Reviews
A great classical station needs a terrific app
Since its retooling at the start of 2023, WRR became among the best curated classical music broadcasters anywhere with heavy emphasis on the “broad.” It’s been decades since I’ve heard a classical music radio station play choral music, opera arias or early music as part of its regular programming, and this is now a station where you might hear “The Rite of Spring” at 9 am on a weekday morning or is just as likely to air “Also Sprach Zarathustra” at 10 am as 10 pm. The range of composers, compositions, genres and eras is vast, and the on-air broadcast staff is serious and knowledgeable.
So it’s useful and important to have a reliable app for listeners outside the DFW area who will want to take advantage of the experience. This new app is more reliable than the old one. I haven’t tried the alarm/sleep function yet, but it’s a nice-to-have.
Finally a WRR app
A seamless quick connection without having to go through a browser. It is reasonably buffered: I can now walk between buildings on campus between WiFi nodes without losing the program. I also enjoy using the app to listen to my other favorite station KERA. Well done!
Mostly happy with the update
My app quit working….kept telling me I didn’t have an internet connection (not true)….I just pulled it up under a web view. Last week I decided to try again (after already doing this several times over several weeks) to uninstall/reinstall and lo and behold, there is a new app. Would have been GREAT to know on the OLD app….hey, we’re moving to a new app. That said, your station has gotten my hubby to listen to classical music (very big deal) so you guys are doing lets well.
