Easy communication

I love using this for work. It’s easy to communicate and stay in communicate with our entire team network through our district and stay in touch making day to day businesses easier to handle.

Bad for Employees & Predatory

Woven may be satisfactory for a business or management to use, however - it’s forced on employees as a means to check schedules and communications. This requires a download on the phone or daily check-in on a pc, usage of uncompensated data, direct and any-time access on or off the clock, and if any important communications or documents are passed through Woven, it’s on the employee to provide the materials, cost, and time to access it.

Additionally, updates to Woven are aesthetic changes only. The function of the schedule aspect is insufferable and requires most users (staff) to write it out for clarity. Messages and communications can also be a struggle to navigate. The team deciding the layout and function of Woven are prioritizing all but the lower-level employee ease of use and access.

Woven gets a one-star because of it’s blind spots on lower-level employee’s access and function - and the fact that it provides employers invasive and all-day access to employees. It’s ignorant to presume that employees in the USA can ignore or attend to work communications at their convenience. That’s not how things work in this country - there are always consequences.

Woven is US based and as such appreciates how things work in this country - we take privacy and security seriously. As you've posted this anonymously, we are unable to send you more details, but you are welcome to contact us at support@startwoven.com for full details of our privacy policy.
For your design feedback, Woven was designed with multiple interfaces to satisfy the different types of users we support. For front-line (desk-less) workers, our native apps were built specifically with them in mind. Given your deep privacy concerns however, you may be better suited not using a smartphone in general that can track you, and instead opt for our web browser interface. It will give you all the access and features you need to perform your job without installing an app. If you do opt to install the Woven app, you can rest easy knowing that we do NOT provide your employer with "invasive and all-day access". (To this point, we would advise you uninstall all social media apps from your phone as they do provide invasive and all-day access to your life. Given your expressed privacy concerns, we would not want you to be taken advantage of without your knowledge. This is the USA after all.)

Unnecessary updates

The app is not a bad app, but the most recent redesign of the schedules page is ridiculous. The main page for your schedule used to be condensed and easy to read for the accurate Sunday-Saturday calendar schedule, similarly with the locations tab. With the most recent update it’s an inaccurate Monday-Sunday schedule that incorrectly displays the hours to be worked for the week. This change was completely unnecessary and I may as well just rely on the email notifications for my schedule updates.
