Description
This App was designed specifically to help those in the medical field as well as individuals who deal with wounds on a daily basis. It is meant to replace the need for using unsanitary paper rulers and other unsanitary means of measuring the width, height, and depth of a wound on a patient or yourself. This saves you not only the cost of a separate measuring device each time a wound is measured, but also helps to reduce the chance of infection that can come from touching a measurement device to an open wound.
With the Wound Measurement App, you can measure a wound opening one-handed, reducing some of the problems that can come with measuring a wound in a difficult spot. Once the measurements are complete, a label with appear above the wound with the measurements and you can save a picture of both the measurements and the opening all at the same time, saving you time and effort.
Users now have the ability to add patient information to the label including Patient ID, Patient Name, and Wound Location. The date and time appear on the label automatically to help you keep track of when a measurement was taken.
We respect the privacy of our users and their patients. We cannot and will not access the camera or photos remotely. Please note that the app will need to be allowed to use your phone’s camera only to take the measurements, and it will need to be allowed to save a photo to the photos library. If you do not wish to keep a photo, you can always go to your photos library and delete anything you don't want to keep. We also don’t collect or ask for any information from the user, we feel that your apps and information belong to you, and that you should have complete control of your privacy.
Like most people, we don’t like having to see adds all over the place, so we don’t use any adds in this app.

Ratings and Reviews
Needs improvemwnt
This app would be better if it would let us know when we are the appropriate distance from the Wound for an accurate measurement. Additionally, I agree with a previous review that the measurement needs to be labeled as length, width, height. Also, it would be helpful if the label would not sit directly on the wound, and once the measurement is calculated, the dots would disappear from the pictures.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for the helpful suggestions. I especially like the idea of having the dots disappear once the wound is measured. I will also look into moving the placement of the label. To your note on the being the correct distance away, the app should be able to measure with the phone about 6 inches away from the wound, all the way to a couple meters away from the wound, depending on the size of what you want to measure. A good general rule is if the camera can focus, it should be able to measure
Please add some features!!
This would be perfect if we can add additional text to the measurement (patient Medical record number) and if the date and time would automatically show up also. one more thing, we measure wounds Length, width, and depth in that order. I’m pretty sure that’s the standard in the US. How do I correct this? Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Developer Response ,
Angelica2479, sorry I haven’t gotten back sooner, I have been sick. I like those suggestions! I will see about adding them as soon as I get a chance.
Simply doesn’t work
Says it’s compatible with this phone but the camera won’t take a picture and accessing a previous picture does nothing. The flashlight icon DOES turn on the phone’s light so maybe that’s worth the cost? This needs removed from the App Store.
Developer Response ,
I would be glad to look into the problems you are having. There is no photo storage in the app itself, the photos should be stored on your own device, this should help part of the concerns you shared.
There is also an FAQ section in the app that should answer most questions, if you can't find the answer to your questions there, you can also contact us directly from the FAQ section. Again, we would be more than happy to help if you reach out to us.
