Description

Wild flowers is an application which allows you to identify with ease 1764 wild flowers of France and Western Europe.

All the photos are included in the software. You can thus use Wild flowers during your walks in nature, and you do not need a connection to internet to show the images.
Please note that flowers presented in this app are present in France. Most of them are present in a big part of the Western Europe around France. (see distribution maps)

Several modes of use are possible.
- An assistant allows you to select criteria as the color, the shape of leaves or the shape of flowers. So, you can reduce the search to a limited number of species, and even identify directly a flower, in certain cases.
- A list by name, latin name, or both family and name is available.
- You can also look for a word (name, latin name or family) while typing it in a text field on the home page.
- Distribution maps.
- Ellenberg's indicator values (available for more than 80% of the species listed.)
- You can write personal notes
- You can share/save your personal notes by email
- You can send the description of a flower by email (the button is at the end of the description)
For every species, a short description is available, as well as the main parameters (size, color, flowering, etc.).
At any time, you can show all the representatives of certain genus or certain family.

Please note that English language is not our mother language. Therefore, English text is a bit reduced compared to the description in French. Please apologize for this !

And finally, a glossary resumes some important terms of botany which could be vague for the beginners.

To be the most effective possible on the little screen of your device, photos presented for every species were optimized with the aim of showing every time at least an inflorescence and a characteristic leaf of the species, in close-up.

In spite of all the precautions taken during the elaboration of this software, errors can still exist in our database. If you notice an obvious error, you contact us (contact form available at http://fleursenpoche.antiopa.info/fleursenpoche or directly into the app)

Wild flowers will then be corrected in the next version.

a godsend for the Swiss alps

This app turned out to be a godsend, given the paucity of European flower guides on the web. I do have two suggestions for the wizard, though. All the flowers I was identifying grew at above 2000 meters, and while the species accounts did contain altitude information, I would have liked to have been able to select for that in the wizard. I would also have liked to have been able to select on number of petals. I have no botanical knowledge, and some of the options were (to me) esoteric. I'd be willing to sacrifice some of the current options for altitude and number of petals. I was able to identify all the flowers of which I had pictures. It just took a bit longer than I wanted.

Great!

FANTASTIC app with many common species. The interface is easy to use. If you select by color only, it may or may not be the exact shade of the flower you are viewing so you'll have to add more search selections or scroll through all of the related shades. Please add more deceptive info and and easier way to see more pictures of each flower. And more species!!

loves to garden ,

Nice app even tho it is for Europe

By looking at these flowers I am able to locate ideas for the flowers that are in the US. It has been very helpful to me. Thanks.
