Webroot WiFi Security & VPN 4+

Mostly ok if you mind waiting several minutes.

I subscribed to this app VPN service for about 18 months and recently cancelled my service.

This app works if you have time to wait for failed connections, troubleshooting, and app crashes that cut off internet access.

Recently, I’ve started using more two factor authentication (2FA) through my work and personal accounts. When this app crashed (about 4 times per week) it would prevent my 2FA login attempts and cause a lot of frustration. There are many excellent VPN services now and I got tired of troubleshooting connection failures and crashes with this app.

Not sure after a month if it’s worth it

I’m not sure after a month if I’ll keep this app. The benefits don’t outweigh the cost in my opinion and I’m not talking about $3.99 a month. After the first week I noticed that I was charged according to the what the app said was a day early not a big deal, but I have had this persistent problem of my VPN not shutting off when I’m at home. Now before I get a response to this from Webroot I did open a customer service ticket over this. They said that it basically is apples or the phones fault for not sending the correct information to the app. They suggested to make it a safe network in the app which I did. It still time in and time out views my secure network at home as unsafe. The problem is not user error, it’s the app. The fact that people have to write you all to tell you this app is glitchy at $3.99 is beyond me. Is that not what we pay you to do. If an update isn’t issued I’m going to cut my subscription. Also the cookie cutter responses from customer service may be what people are referring to as rude. I simply just see them a dismissive and a waste of my time.

Doesn't Autoconnect

I'm very disappointed with this app. When connected it seems to do well. But when I turn the phone off and then back on, or when I connect to a new wifi network, it does not restart. At a minimum, I have to agree to renew my subscription automatically. Every time! Once should be enough. Most of the time I have to re-enter my password also. *Extremely* annoy! Unless I remember to constantly check to see if my VPN is working, I cannot depend on this protecting me. Almost worthless as a security app IOW.

I cannot recommend this app. I have switched to the new AT&T VPN and am trying that. Unfortunately it's just for my phone so I'm still running this on my iPad and computers. And cussing vehemently every time I have to re-enter my password. I will switcH to another VPN service on those as soon as I find one I like and can trust.

Webroot, I'm rapidly loosing faith in ALL your programs and services. I cannot express how angry I am that your password toolbar for Firefox has been broken for OVER A YEAR!!!! Now this. Get your stuff together or go the way of the Dodo bird. I hope your anti-virus is still working.
