5 stars at the core
This is an amazing portable implementation of VPX that is even easier to use and setup than the full Windows release. That said, there are a few things that would be nice to see, such as a virtual dip switch panel (right now I need to connect a BT keyboard). I am also struggling to manage the camera angle. A couple of additional camera presets would be great. Lastly to help peek new player interest, maybe partner with a community table designer to include a higher quality sample table.
Amazing entry
I’ve been using Visual Pinball on the PC for a few months now, grinding away at all the info I can gather to optimize tables and play setup. To see VPin come to iOS is quite a the feat in itself. Tables render as expected albeit with some hardware limitations (Pushing a bit too hard on my part). Most tables are playable, but the complex and intensive tables error out or come out at 15 fps. (Can’t win them all.) With some tweaking and community support, this will be a fantastic extension to the VPin experience.
VPX in your pocket
Really awesome way to play virtual pinball on the go. Super easy to set up with minimal file prep time on PC. Insane that I can play my favorite pins on just my phone. Like others have said, more ability to adjust typical table settings (e.g., opening the cabinet to adjust table volume) would be useful versus having to connect an external keyboard, but even that’s not too big of a hassle anyways. Excited to see how this is further developed.
