Description

Still seeing well out of your current glasses or contacts prescription, but now it's expired? Virtual Vision Test by Warby Parker lets you renew it from home in 10 minutes using just your phone! And it starts at just $15.

*Pricing*
- You’ll only be charged if we can renew your prescription
- You’ll hear back from our doctors within 48 hours. If the doctor renews your prescription, you’ll pay just $15. For multiple prescriptions you'll pay $25.
- If they cannot renew your prescription and instead recommend you get an in-person, comprehensive eye exam, you will not be charged.

*Eligibility*
To use Virtual Vision Test, you must meet eligibility requirements set by state regulations and our doctors. Virtual Vision Test is great for anyone who:
- Is between 18 and 65 years old
- Does not live in one of the following states: AK, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, NV, NJ, NM, ND, RI, SC, SD, VA, WA, WV
- Has a single-vision distance Rx (not readers or progressives)
- Has no eye health concerns or symptoms
- Sees well with their current glasses or contacts

How it works!

It’s as simple as reading the eye chart at the doctor’s office—but on your phone. You just need your eyeballs, your glasses or contacts, and your phone.
1. We’ll guide you through a simple (but thorough) eligibility quiz to make sure the app is a good fit for you.
2. If you’re eligible, the app takes you through an equally simple vision test. You'll need to complete it in a quiet, well-lit spot where you have about 10 feet of space.
3. In about 48 hours, an eye doctor will assess your results. If they determine that you're still seeing well out of your current prescription, then the doctor may renew it and you'll pay the $15, or more, if you have multiple prescriptions.

FYI: Virtual Vision Test by Warby Parker is not a comprehensive eye exam and it isn’t meant to replace visits to your eye doctor. It’s important to get your eye health examined periodically, even if you aren’t experiencing any vision problems, so please follow the advice of your doctor. Good to keep those peepers in check.

So convenient!!!! So SMART!!!

I fell in love with Warby Parker and get at least 3 compliments a day on my glasses. But as you guessed, as soon as I wanted to add to my collection because they were sooooo reasonably priced I got an email from them saying my Rx was expired (which even them being on that is amazing) so I was like crap. Got to go do my yearly exam and I don’t have insurance so I usually have to go to Costco (which I am still grateful for because you do need to get comprehensive eye exams) which the app reminds you of constantly. But when I found out I could download this app and use it with my computer to confirm with a doctor that my prescription hadn’t changed for only $40 I was shocked! So I did it. It was so genius. Even how they have you measure the screen to your computer is sooooo smart!! My husband was watching me do the whole process and he was so impressed. AND they approved my Rx and it immediately went to Warby Parker and this time I went to and actual location (Abbott Kinney) so I could try on the whole collection if I wanted. They had all of my prescription info and just like that placed an order for two more pairs of glasses that will show up within a week I think. It saved me so much money and more importantly, TIME!! Thank you to whoever thought up this genius idea!!!!!

Buggy

Hey. I love WP and decided to give this app a try. Seems fairly straightforward but here is my issue. First the positive - the test is really quick and easy. But then… the app says your RX will be reviewed by a doctor within 48 hours of submitting it. Now although I did the test over the weekend, it’s been three days and I’ve got nothing concrete from them (took the test on a Saturday and it’s Tuesday night, now), which brings me to my next point. After you take the test, there’s no record of it, what the progress is, when you took it, no test id, etc, either in this app or in the WP app - no confirmation email, order number, nothing like that, which seems either lazy or like maybe the app is broken. The third thing is that I was finally sent an email today announcing my RX was ready, and it included no specific information but it did link me to what it said was my prescription. The link took me to a broken page that wouldn’t load. I contacted customer service and they said the test was still pending and they didn’t know why I had been charged or why I had received the email saying the Rx was ready. To their credit they offered me free shipping on my glasses so maybe that’s something??? Finally, the lack of communication from this app, the lack of transparency in the process and the lack of communication across the apps (WP and vision test) is frustrating and messy. In retrospect I would have just gone to an optometrist and gotten my prescription in an hour.

GREAT app - one suggestion

This is a fantastic app. It is easy and delightful to use and gave me a new prescription within 24 hours. This is especially wonderful because I needed a prescription update to get blue light glasses for working at home bc of Covid, and no place was open to get a prescription. Whole process took only half an hour!! The one small suggestion I have is for the last step. When you are supposed to choose your current glasses or upload a prescription, I chose my current Warby Parker distance frames which I had bought online using a distance prescription. The app said these were ineligible, that only distance prescriptions were eligible. I was confused, and almost gave up because I thought that my vision was too bad for app ( I have terrible nearsightedness and astigmatism). But I thought I would try uploading my prescription (the same one as I used for the glasses) and see what happened. Luckily I got a prescription!! So perhaps change the “ineligible” message to something less confusing because I nearly dropped off. But this is a small thing!! Thank you developers, PMs, and other relevant stakeholders for a phenomenal product!! You have really made my life easier and better!!
