Description
Videlion is a lightweight and powerful tool for cataloging, tagging and playing your videos. It provides a single overview of all your videos which are dispersed on your computer and external storages like external HDDs or network shares.
Supported video formats: 3gp, 3g2, asf, avi, avs, dat, divx, evo, flv, m1v, m2ts, m2v, mj2, mjpg, mjpeg, mkv, mod, moov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, mpv, nut, ogm, qt, rm, rmvb, ts, vob, webm, wmv, xvid. The app does not require installing codecs.

Works ok on Mac mini M4 Pro
I was looking for something like this and this is the only one I’ve found on the App Store so I gave it a try. It did crash once when importing a 2+ TB video library on an external Thunderbolt 4 SSD enclosure, but it resumed where it left off when it reopened and it completed without problem.
Videlion has helped me re-discover and organize lost, forgotten, or just misplaced videos I’ve saved over the years. My only complaint is that the App isn’t native Apple Silicon but rather runs as an Intel process. Despite that it still works well and doesn’t noticeably affect performance on the rest of the system.
Simple video library browser
Simplicity is what makes this program great. You can quickly identify what is on a given clip by looking at the still frames it generates. Very basic, but that's exactly the kind of program I was looking for, something without all the confusion that some other apps use in conjuction with non-linear editing programs. If you have a hard drive filled with video clips and want a way to browse them easily this is the app for you.
Really useful app, but...
This is the exact app I was looking for, however - it keeps crashing!
