The product is good !

The hardware is very good ! I wish I did not have to rely on the TPConnect software to fine tune all the settings, and also, that once you set the hardware side of this product it would remain that way without the need to bring up the TPConnect app to reset it to your setup. Additionally, I did not find a way of stopping TPConnect from being constantly opened in the background of my ipad draining battery. I tried everything, disconnecting background refresh, setting the Ipad to Low Power mode, doing a soft reboot, doing a hard reboot.... And nothing worked, TPConnect keeps working in the background. No way to de-activate it.... on my ipad 6 it does not drain too much battery, but on my ipad Pro 12.9 it's a disaster when I want to use de iPad in a live situation without charging cables.

So far, very disappointed

I bought the TP MIDI Controller a few years back for $400 and have sparingly used it because I couldn’t always be around my desktop computer. So when I heard that this app was available, I was ecstatic. Now I could use my iPad Pro with my TP! Yeah!
But not without a few caveats. 1- You need a $40 camera adapter to attach the fob to the iOS device. 2- Fishman hooks you for another $20 for an in-app purchase to unlock the MIDI Controller. Why? No idea! 3- If your experience is anything like mine, good luck updating the firmware. It caused my app to keep restarting before it launched the program. Also, I was stupid enough to buy a sound pack (before updating the firmware) and could not find it anywhere in the app. Also, I had no luck pulling tracks from iTunes. Again it just hung and crashed. I realize this is just version 1 but it needs to get better fast or it won’t last.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it does work and sounds good. The interface takes a while to figure out and response to your guitar is amazing. But what good is it if I can’t start the app!

While the TriplePlay Wireless controller requires a Camera Connection Kit because it is a USB device, TriplePlay Connect controller comes with a Lightning cable with no connection kit needed. The TriplePlay Connect controller does not require purchase to unlock the MIDI functionality, this is only limited to the TriplePlay Wireless controller.
The most recent update addressed a few issues with updating the firmware consistently. If you're still experiencing issues updating the firmware, please contact our customer support team so we may help you resolve it.

Easy, fast, and amazing!

If you’re looking for a real MIDI guitar and don’t want to waste your time figuring out how to make it work, get the TP Connect! It took me less than fifteen minutes to install it on my guitar, download the app, and start playing with it. The app offers lots of fun possibilities. One of my favorite fatures is the ability to combine synth sounds. (the looper is also fantastic). I’d love to see more patches available in the app in future updates. Maybe some Holdsworth inspired ones :). TP connect also works as a MIDI controller! Five stars at least!!!
