Tommy Bahama Island Club 4+

My server said hello then served the couple next to me who came in after me-she never came back. I’m pretty sure she forgot about me 30 minutes later. I asked at the hostess desk if I could go get my phone charger cause my phone was dying. I wanted a beer and the Baja tacos you guys advertise on your app and in the email I got, but they’re not on the menu. The choices are for IPAs and one logger so I sample the logger as I don’t drink IPAs the logger taste and being a wine drinker anyway; the red wines I wore was interested in were the ones not available by the glass like the Italian from Maria I was told no. Of the few choices available. I ended up with Beld gloss which I know to be a good wine, but at $17 and glass, I asked if I could purchase a half glass and was told no when I opted for a glass my food had just arrived, but by the time the glass arrived, the ribs were all gone, and this Pinot Noir is high alcohol, which doesn’t complement food. I was not expecting crispy strips of I guess tortilla chips in my island slaw, which is soggy and didn’t look as fresh and good as my neighbors and the Yukon Gould mashed potatoes tasted like they were full of flour. We LOVE Tommy’s. The service is top notch especially Nathan and Chris. The Lemon Drop Margaritas are by far the BEST!!! I have become somewhat of a Lemon Drop martini snob so much so that I left one nice restaurant because I wanted a really tasty Lemon Drop and theirs fell way short of the TB’s mark. Tonight for the first time, we had the coconut shrimp and OMGosh was it outstanding!! The grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were also amazing!! The servers’ awareness of things that could be a problem, like our table that wobbled, are to be commended. Our first night dining at TB, Chris took care of it immediately which was comforting; otherwise, drinks and food could have landed in our laps. The “hot” bread with their butter spread is so scrumptious like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Come enjoy the happy hour, the food choices are great and at a really great price as is their wines and of course my fav…the lemon drop martini.
NEW VISIT-LOVE happy hour and the visit here in Newport Beach. Always feel like I’m on a mini vacay. The drinks are always scrumptious as well as the food. Especially the Coconut Shrimp and Mahi-Mahi Tacos. This time we enjoyed the hummus and pita and that was equally as delicious!! Lastly had a frozen Mai Tai and oh yea!! One is probably the most I can handle. They are dangerous. Lol.

Kimee was our server and made it so much fun! She is welcoming, personable, and explained what we asked about regarding menu items. She checked back with us to make sure we enjoyed our food, if we needed more wine, and whether we wanted dessert. Since she was serving several tables at the same time, we greatly appreciated her attention that would be the same with less customers. Our food was, as always, delicious.
