Peace of mind and great customer service

Bought this for my 5 year old daughter and we absolutely love it. Grandma, grandpa, Oma, Opa, aunts uncles and cousins all are able to message. She can not read or write so the quick voice message is our go to right now. She loves the emojis and being able to send selfies also. With the settings all figured out the watch doesn’t have a problem lasting all day. The DO NOT DISTURB feature is great I just set it for what days and times she is in school and it stays on but doesn’t let her do anything other than call emergency numbers. We also love that it doesn’t have games so she doesn’t run the battery down and isn’t glued to it. We have had small issues that the tilktalk team politely helped me in realizing that I had the wrong settings and helped me get everything set and good to go. This will be with my daughter until she is old enough to have a actual phone. Being able to see where she is or hear what she is doing is amazing. Thanks tick talk

Good to great just NEEDS message previews

This is a great watch and associated application.

It’s great that it works with AT&T’s $10 plus paid plan that they currently offer. you have complete control through the app. You can also gradually give more control to the user/child by relaxing restrictions as they mature. It’s so nice that they have no games. Most of the time, our children are using the watch to just send a text message that they have reached their friends house or that they are leaving. They rarely call. For that reason, it would be really useful to have message previews with the notifications that pop up on your phone, so you don’t have to go into the app to see which Child sent the message and what it says. Hoping for that to change with a future version of the app. Call quality is good. The phone is slightly thick, but yeah, it’s not an Apple Watch. It’s a good introduction to electronics and wearables for children

Terrible. Stay away, far away.

Got in with the Kickstarter. Gave us a discount, but now I wish we’d waited, because now we can’t get a refund on this piece of crap. First one was so user unfriendly that we had to get customer service to send firmware updates while we were on with phone with them. Then, after a couple uses, it broke where the band connects. They exchanged it for a new V3, which we didn’t even open for a few months (we were using an apple watch to keep track of the kid). Last night we opened it and started to set it up, and a button popped off. We figured a workaround, and thought all was well. My son called me last night, and the audio was terrible. I could hardly hear him. Then he tried a video call, and it was worse. He sounded gravelly and barely audible, and I heard myself echo back insanely loud.
Then, I was getting notifications every time my wife (or anyone) sent him a text, but I couldn’t actually see the message. Bottom line, we’re back to the Apple Watch, and the TickTalk is going into the shredder, since we aren’t eligible for a refund. The device is terrible, and the app is even worse. What is simple in any other os takes three steps. If you can swing it, get a used Apple Watch. Or something else that actually works.
