The Idol was lost — but not forgotten. Collect crime-scene clues to piece together shocking truths in this standalone sequel to the award-winning mystery game "The Case of the Golden Idol."
Three hundred years after the unspeakable fate of the Cloudsley family, the Golden Idol's legend lives on only in whispers and myth. But now, in the tumultuous times of the 1970s, some are determined to see the Idol restored to its former glory. Discover the mysterious forces connecting a relentless relic hunter, a team of scientists, the members of an enlightenment-seeking cult and more characters drawn to the all-powerful artifact.
As the observer in this point-and-click mystery game, you must investigate 20 strange — and possibly supernatural — cases of crime, death and depravity. Use your detective skills to make sense of a grand mystery that unfolds across an age of hallucinogens, disco, fax machines and parapsychology.
LEAD YOUR OWN INVESTIGATION
Explore each crime scene at your own pace, using observation and logic to build theories of the case. Click to collect clues and analyze each discovery to determine what happened, why, and who was responsible.
A CURIOUS CAST OF CHARACTERS
Convicted prisoners, chat show hosts, corporate middle management and many more figures have a role to play in the wider mystery that unfolds — each driven by their own agenda, and some driven to murder. Scour each scene for key details, put names to faces and deduce each person's motives.
SMOOTHER SLEUTHING AND SOLVING
A new interface lets you quickly collect key terms from each crime scene and seamlessly toggle between investigating and theorizing. Make connections to fill in the blanks of the story for each case, and then piece together every chapter's overarching narrative.

Ratings and Reviews
Probably Niche But Right My Alley
The original series I bought last year on Steam. I was immediately drawn to it and bought all the expansions! This sequel is more of the same, which is to say a dream come true. When I was a child I loved those logic puzzles with the grids and such, and this scratches that itch. Rarely do you need to sketch things out, if your memory is working as intended. The a-ha moments as things start to click are very unique to this game. You go like “whoa so this guy killed this guy because of that?” and then more things start clicking. You discover the story by more than just your visual queues, you start making hypothesis, which ar often wrong and then you get your mind blown over and over again. Great writing, great lore and great mechanics make this game one of my favorite games of the past few years, and I play a lot!

NEED ANOTHER GAME
I’ve never written a review on any game I’ve ever played before so when I tell you this game is top-tier, it’s TOP-TIER. Personally, I think this game was very well-made and it really captivated me unlike anything else. I finished this game in 4 to 5 days because I quite literally could not enough. I just wanna congratulate the devs because they created something I’ve never seen before, and it drew me in entirely. The storyline was so interesting and so enjoyable and this game is so well-made and so different. Thankfully, I did not experience any bugs personally so I made the gameplay really enjoyable. So now I’m gonna ask that you please please add another storyline or make another game with the same structure because I’ve never enjoyed anything more.

Hello there Svehehgffenkeydoqydvdj! Thanks for the review. We're glad that you enjoy playing The Rise of the Golden Idol. We really appreciate it!
Best Netflix game!
I went into this game with no expectations because—let's face it—Netflix game offerings have been very uneven. Other than the games that were popular BEFORE appearing on Netflix, I've not really liked any—except maybe Storyteller and Scriptic. This game is SO GOOD, I just couldn't stop until I was gone. I barely slept over the weekend and played feverishly, taking notes, and replaying parts where I had missed the clues the first time. It has been a most captivating experience! I hope there is a third in this series and a fourth! WELL DONE!!!
