Tea: Dating Safety for Women 17+

I was skeptical when I first heard of this app. I was in one of the various “are we dating the same guy?” Facebook pages and someone recommended it. I tried it out when u got frustrated with beyond making a post anonymously not being able to comment on others posts with revealing your identity. So I was shocked to report everything this app claims to be is truly what it is! You can’t screenshot! No one can find your identity and it’s opened a space for women (some who typically would never have shared anything like this due to the horrific circumstances they’ve endured) to not only post looking for tea or red flags for a new love venture but a place to post men from either current or past relationships with abusive, narcissistic, unfaithful, dishonest, or criminal men. As a way to way others to steer clear of these men as to prevent another women from becoming their next victim! I initially was concerned it would turn into A high school mean girls situation and could get ugly fast. However I was happy to see women uplifting others and not character assassinating men out of jealousy or spite. I feel in this digital dating era an app like this has been long overdue and as such women have used it as a safety tool not a gossip platform! Kudos to the strong brave women who embarked on creating this safe space and I can’t wait to see height where yall take this too!

I have a very bad ex who was abusive to me, his spouses before me and I have been contacted by the ones after me and he's still in and out of jail for domestic abuse. He has an extensive criminal record in 4 states. But he's attractive, smart and charming, you'd never know it to talk to him. I'm afraid one day, he's going to end up killing a girl. Women he's dated after me have somehow tracked me down on instagram. Asking me if he was violent with me. I was able to tell them my story and clarify the lies he was telling. But not before he had pistol whipped her. For so long I was hoping for a way to warn other women of him. Just to do a background check at least. But we never do, do we? We just trust what they say. I think this app will save lives. If just one of the girls he may be swiping on right now sees him on the app, listens to my warning, then what I went through feels worth it. Download and share this app, if not for you, for your sister or your friend. Woman to woman, protect each other.

I recently came across this app. I thought how wonderful! Being a girls girl, I am all for protecting eachother. Unfortunately, not every woman is on the same page. The cattiness I’ve experienced is dangerous and has resulted in abusive communication being exposed to the red-flagged men posted. Not just my first hand experience, but others in my community as well. How, when screenshots are not possible? Let me explain. A second device can still record a video of scrolling on your screen. And the girls who think their abusive or lying man they’re sharing with you are saints, even with presented evidence, are extremely quick to put another in danger to stand up for said man. The admin is phenomenal in dealing with these situations, however it’s very easy to open a new account as there are no security features to prevent these abuser-supporting women from coming back and retaliating against you more. I ended up being forced by my abuser to delete the app, and myself created a new account after he left my home, leaving me with fresh trauma. I was attacked once more and deleted on my own as I can’t handle the emotional pain from the harassment. I’ll be back when further security features to protect users become available!
