Description
"tapeRecorder HD" turns your device into an "OLD STYLE" tape recorder / music player.
Useful for:
- Record interviews, lectures at the university, audio notes, live music performances
- Play music stored in your iTunes music library
The software allows:
- To make recordings with an endless recording time (professional type - using the device's microphone)
- Saves an infinite number of recordings in the archive ("Archive") (subject to availability of physical memory on the device)
- Automatically assigns the current date and time for the title of the recorded audio file (automatic historical archive recording)
- At any time you can load and listen the Your personal recordings
- Using the technology "iTunes File Sharing" all the recordings can be transferred from device to PC or MAC (RECORDING BACKUP)
- Using the technology "iTunes File Sharing" all the recordings can be transferred from the MAC / PC to the device
- Allows you to load songs directly from the music library of the device, for listening (MUSIC PLAYER feature for iTunes music library)
- Parallel listening and recording
1) Import music from your iTunes library
2) Press REC
3) Press PLAY
4) Sing over the music playing
RESULTS: music + voice will be recorded on a new audio file (KARAOKE RECORDING feature) and stored in the archive ("Archive")
(These steps can be repeated several times to create such choirs or double voices)
- FF and REW tape slow and fast (pressing FF and REW buttons the tape is rewinded or fast forwarded as is in the old cassette recorder)
- Animation for tape reel (simulates the old cassette player for REC, PLAY, FF, fast FF, REW, fast REW)

* Minor bugs fixed
* Background recording: with that feature You can use other software installed on the device while tapeRecorder is recording. It is useful for example during a conference to take notes with any text editor app installed on the device while tapeRecorder is recording the audio conference for You. An example of text editor can be Pages, my iNotePad, etc…
* Recording feature is now available also when the device display is shutdown (increase the device battery duration during recording): shutdown your device while recording --> tapeRecorder will continue to record audio for You
* Background play: You can use other installed software while tapeRecorder is playing an audio file.
* Play when device display is shutdown (increase the device battery duration during playing): shutdown your device while playing --> tapeRecorder will continue to play audio for You
* Play instantly starting from -5 seconds: useful for example when You have to take handwrite notes of a previously recorded audio conference (such as for example a University lesson). During play, pressing "play -5s" button tapeRecorder will repeat the last five seconds (go back in time 5 seconds from the current play position and play automatically starting from the new position) so You can listen better something You have not understand. Pressing repeatedly "play -5s" button You can go more back in time, -5 seconds for each click:
- pressing one time --> current play position - 5 seconds
- pressing two times --> current play position - 10 seconds
- pressing n times --> current play position - 5*n seconds
so You can choose with only one click the position to listen while You take handwrite notes
* PLAY ALL control: switch this control to ON to play automatically one after another all the audio files contained into the "audio Archive". You can use this feature with "background play" feature when for example You are in voyage or You are doing a running sport and You want to listen music (all the songs can be chosen from the device iPod library and saved into the "audio Archive" with its artwork --> playlist).

Rewind doesn't work
This is junk. Rewind does not work. How do I get my $$ back?
Needs More Work
Not a bad product, however, it would be beneficial to use in landscape format and; I wish the recording would continue during multitasking and only shut off upon depressing the stop button. I was attempting to use my Note Pad App, during a meeting recording but the recorder would stop during any attempts to multitask. Voice pick up from a distance of five to seven feet is decent; wish the voice distance pick up could range to 10-15 feet for purposes of recording meetings. Play back clarity is not bad but could use some improvement with distortions. Maybe a stronger mic mechanism...would be great!!!
Unintuitive and buggy not recommended at this time.
Yes it records and yes it plays back. That's the two stars. On iOS 5 on an iPad 3. The tape recorder time tracking gets inaccurate. Sometimes if it does actually rewind the time counters don't reset or decrement properly. When you play back it is displaying a time longer than the length recorded because it didn't zero the timer properly. There are no instructions. When you press record it creates a file, then it appeared to me to behave such that when I hit record again it would some times continue and sometimes create another file. I just can't recommend it.
