Standby Skipper 4+

I’ll admit, I was clueless and stressed out when it came to managing the My Disney app, Genie+, Lightning lanes, etc. It’s a lot to learn and you can’t really see it until you’re there and invested. Standby Skipper is an app/service that works in the background with My Disney app for those who purchase a daily Genie+. ITS A PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO SNAG LIGHTNING LANES FAST. Why this matters: each person in your group who purchases Genie+ for that day can choose a lightning lane every 2 hrs. BUT they’re not always available. So, you’d be checking your My Disney app constantly to see if it’s available. ON STANDBY SKIPPER, YOU CHOOSE THE RIDE YOU WANT TO USE THE LIGHTNING LANE AND IT CONSTANTLY REFRESHES FOR YOU, AND BOOKS THE LIGHTNING LANE FOR YOUR WHOLE PARTY (or selected people) WHEN AVAILABLE. Otherwise, you’d be refreshing your My Disney app all the time. We’d wake up around 6:30, purchase the daily Genie+ on My Disney app for our group and then I’d just go to the Standby Skipper app and select which ride we wanted first… then go back to sleep lol. (FYI, the Lightning Lanes become available at 7a). Lightning lane gives you an hour window once selected (first one is when the park opens). As soon as we got to the park, we’d select another ride on Standby Skipper and eventually it would book the Lightning Lane when available. Bottom line, it saves you from being on your phone all day and allows you to get more Lightning lanes. 100% worth it.

Standby Skipper is the best app ever! Totally worth the price for all that it does for you while you concentrate on enjoying your trip to the parks.
The Skipper each day allowed me at 7 AM to concentrate on getting a spot in the virtual queues while it took care of scheduling my first Genie+ Lightening Lane. It usually was able to get return times within the first half hour of park opening.
I scheduled it to search for my most desired ride for the first genie+ reservation. After that was made, i then entered in the rest of the rides that I wanted to have reserved later that day as I became eligible to book another lightening lane. The app searches about every five minutes to see if you are eligible to book…if you are it books the next lightening lane… many times it even finds an opening on a sold out ride… it helped me do 21 rides at the magic kingdom on a busy Friday during spring break.
The one rating on here that claims the standby skipper people were rude.. I find hard to believe based to how they interact with people on facebook who continuously ask the same questions over and over without first doing a search on their page for the answer… they are always very polite.
This app deserves 11/10 stars!

We spent five days in Disney World over spring break. I had never gone before and my husband hadn’t been since the introduction of Genie+, ILLs, and virtual queues. We were a little stressed thinking about how to coordinate all the booking and scheduling for each day. Standby Skipper was amazing! It got us on all of the non-ILL/virtual queue rides that we requested without us having to spend our vacation on our phones all day. We could focus on the ILLs and virtual queues in the morning and leave everything else to Skipper! Our first two days were packed, with Skipper getting us another ride as soon as we were eligible. After that, we intentionally slowed down a little bit to rest our feet, but we always had a LL booked for us if we wanted it. The app was easy to use and very intuitive. We never needed to reach out for help. Out of all the scheduling apps needed for our trip, this one was definitely the easiest and it was so helpful that it integrated so well with the WDW app.

We’re on the West Coast, so we go to Disneyland much more often. I so wish that Standby Skipper would offer a Disneyland option, too. It will be hard going back to DL after having been spoiled by Skipper in WDW!
