SpeedBox was one of the very early Speedometer Apps for the iPhone. Take advantage of my experience and the refined algorithms that can get a much greater accuracy from the iPhone then a lot of other apps. I regularly update my application to make it even more accurate and usable.
Users have already used our application to verify the accuracy of their car's speedometer or they tried measuring the speed they achieved while skiing. Can you come up with more ideas? How about measuring the speed of the airplane you travel with?
USAGE NOTES
========================
The "GPS strength" indicator in the top left corner should display a green dot. You can tap this indicator to display the current GPS accuracy.
Please allow the application up to a minute to find enough satellites to work correctly.
If you get a message to enable GSP, please go to ”Settings > General > Location Services“ on your iPhone and check if the little switch is set to "On" for Speed Box as well as for "Location Services" in general.
ATTENTION iPod touch users! Unfortunately this app doesn't work very well on the iPod touch and the iPad WiFI (without 3G) since these devices are missing a GPS!

‘91 Cummins Fan
Perfect for what I need! Speed, audible warning when preset speed is exceeded, and mileage between fill ups. The cost is minimal for what you get.
The only thing that seems to be lost from earlier versions is that it turns itself off while I’m driving. I must keep a finger on the display to keep it running continuously. I don’t think I’ve reset something that was previously ‘ON’. Otherwise, it would be a 5 star rating from me.
Good App
Been a great app for a few years now. Still a little buggy when you go from hamburger view to hotdog view or vise versa and you’ll have to close the app and reopen again to fix it. Works great though and seems to be accurate.
Getting Better all the time
When I first got this App I was disappointed, it loaded slow was wildly inaccurate and the graphics were ok. All I wanted was a simple app that I could hold in the window of a car, train, or airplane and get the gee whiz info. Works pretty good in the car. The speed read out can be a bit erratic with 10mph jumps for no apparent reason. I have tried in on the airplane with very little success. I am not sure wether putting the phone in airplane mode causes the app not to work, but I did get it to work once and only once (not in airplane mode) and got a 425mph read out which when compared to the aircrafts GPS was with in a 1-2 mph of what the aircraft GPS was reading. I like that it has added GPS info (Sig strength etc). It's nice to help see why it's not working, still would like more info on the GPS however. The HUD feature is good, although LARGER Brighter numbers would be better in HUD or Mirror mode. A trip computer would be nice (e.g. Max Speed, Altitude, Average Speed, Odometer etc). The analog dials do nothing for me (just my opinion). But as I stated the app works pretty good and keeps improving. Fine tuning and stability will earn a five star.
