Great idea, still needs refinement.

I’ve been using SOFLETE for little over a year now and have seen the progression that the app has made. With the progress though there still seems to be minor things that I would expect the developers to fix. For example in the Bodybuilding team there is a workout that calls to do a inclined supinated grip dumbbell press, however in the example video it shows a guy doing a pronated grip. Another example is occasionally the workouts will call to do X amount sets/reps, but in the area you plug your weights in it will have Y amounts. One more example I just recently ran into was in the Mr. Squat bodybuilding workouts 1-2 and 1-3, the workouts where you’re finding out your 1 rep max has you plug the percentage in instead of the weight. This makes no sense due to you finding out your 1 rep max. This can be all mitigated if someone took the time to go through the entire workout team and make sure these problems were taken care, but to me as a consumer this tells me that someone is slacking or you’re fine with doing sub par work. Sorry for the lengthy review, but I believe this app truly does have great potential still, hence why I still use it. If SOFLETE needs someone to go through the workouts to find these discrepancies please let me know and we can work something out.

Highly recommend the programming, app leaves some to be desired though.

Great programming, minor fixes could make this the best workout app on the market. If SOFLETE makes some of these changes my rating will go up:

- provide some background on the strategy of each program. I have to go in and look at each workout in a program to get a feel for what the programs goals are. Elaborate on strategy for each program and for each team.

- lots of minor discrepancies in reps and weights between the overview, welcome page, and work out screens. That’s just lazy.

- I need the ability to adjust the workout and your app prevents that. I’d like to be able to change exercise titles, rep, and set ranges, as well as add and subtract whole exercises/super-sets in order to accurately track substitutions.

- if you’re going to keep your own social media within the app (team chat) you need to better monitor it. I asked a question last week and still haven’t received a response.

Love the programming, if y’all fix these issues you’ll probably have the best app out there.

Great Programming, Terrible App

Soflete’s programming is great. This review is just for the app.

I think the guys at Soflete forgot what it’s like to be deployed with slow WiFi. The amount of information that has to load for each section of a workout takes forever if you’re not in the comfort of your own home. I spend half my workouts waiting for content to load. Some of their newer programs do have overviews available, but it doesn’t seem like much effort went into them. One workout had a 2k row followed by another 2k row with a rest in the middle. In the overview the first 2k row was in the strength section of the workout, the second was in stamina. Nothing about the rest was mentioned, so I assumed it was a typo and only did one row. Not a huge deal, but there are a lot of little problems in the overviews like that. Many of them also don’t include the recovery/mobility at the end of the workouts.
Having timers and videos and charts embedded for every exercise is great in theory, but does not work out well in reality, especially for their targeted customer who spends time down range with garbage internet. If the overviews were better written and available for every workout of every program, this would be a 5 star app.
