Ok... But not great... Yet
It's really nice to have an app that provides local news. However, you can only read a few of the stories - most of them state for "members" only. Whatever that means. They give no indication of how you can become a member or how much that might cost... The authors need to thoroughly think through what it's like to use this app.
This is an advertising app
This is an advertising app, not a news app. First, it opens with a full screen of advertising that apparently scrolls on forever. When I manage to find news, there are more ads interspersed. But the worst of all are the irrelevant, annoying auto playing videos that keep popping up and covering the content. This is the experience of a subscriber who is signed in! It’s obvious the Skagit Valley Herald has no respect for its subscriber base.
Compare this to the Seattle Times app for a subscriber. No ads anywhere.
Nice start to my day
This app works great. I like how I can see the paper just how it looks printed, or I can click on an article to read it easier.
