Ratings and Reviews
iWeb Potential...
Downloaded and worked right away. I've been looking for a long time for something to run my iWeb site offline on my iPad - sort of a digital portfolio. While I do have a web domain it's not always easy (or inexpensive) to get internet access. I just saved the whole site offline as .html and then compressed it into a .zip file which seems to have worked pretty well. Only issues are with web snippets (a cool part of iweb) that show up as missing image "?", and of course links that should never work offline like "email me". :) Photo and album pages work great, and look great (no "play slideshow" capability). To fix this for portfolio purposes, I've created a second site and removed anything that caused an issue, and now it looks 100% professional. Not sure if this was helpful, but for others hesitant to try a very new app like this one, I'd say it's pretty good.
Trash Spam and Phishing. Garbage.
Trash. Waste.
Good core functionality
This app solved a problem I had where I wanted to load a complete mini-website for demo purposes. (That is a surprisngly hard problem to solve).
Because it can take a ZIP file with a fully contained website (static pages), it did the trick. Once the ZIP is loaded (via itunes) you can then select the zip and presto, you can navigate the portable website without having internet access. really handy for demos.
The built-in browser seems pretty solid. It doesn't handle frames too well, and bumps out of frame instantly when navigating around. So it isn't good for sites with frames.
