SignShine 4+

I recently started using the SignShine app, and I have to say it’s been a delightful experience. As someone eager to learn and teach my children sign language, I was looking for an interactive and user-friendly resource, and I found it when using SignShine! The app features a clean and intuitive design, and navigating through the lessons and resources is straightforward, which is crucial for someone just starting out like me, and especially for a baby learning any language at all. I love the layout because it’s visually appealing, and makes the learning process enjoyable rather than overwhelming. As I go through each lesson and module with my child, they are well-structured and engaging, introducing new signs gradually and reinforcing them through quizzes and practice sessions. I appreciate that the app includes videos demonstrating each sign, allowing me to see the nuances of hand shapes and facial expressions. I have found this to be very effective with my children and I think it is a great way of communicating with kids in general, even before they learn to speak!

SignShine, while locked behind monetary walls, is quite worth the purchase. My uncle recently had his first child, and I had recently learned about the benefits of raising multilingual children in an Infant Development class. Thus, I suggested that he expose his child to different languages to boost the amount of vocabulary and learning benefits for this child. The class also discussed the benefits of teaching infants sign language while they are pre-verbal. Thus, I gifted them this app and they said it has been amazing. Jackson (their son) has been able to communicate his needs with us through simple signs, such as “Play” and “I Love You”. It’s such a delight to sign to him “I love you” and have him sign it back. SignShine utilizes popular children's songs with catchy medleys and supplements them with a child-friendly videos teaching them the basic ASL. Makes for a great baby shower gift :)

I recently downloaded this app and am amazed! I have been using it with the youngest members of my family and love how it is so much more than just a music app. The lessons integrated into each song on the app are amazing to promote communication with little ones through sign language! 🤟🏻 Etel’s lessons are clear and concise, and the app itself works beautifully. It is a colorful and lively interface that gets little ones excited about learning, and is simple to use for adults. I can’t recommend this app enough! 👶🏼✨
