Seyo - Learn & Speak Korean 4+

Gain confidence in speaking!

Seyo is the perfect complement to my other methods of studying Korean. I am able to practice in bite-sized lessons, choosing my own level and interests. Practicing with nonjudgmental speech recognition is really helpful in correcting pronunciation, achieving fluency in speech, and learning essential expressions. I enjoy using the chat function and having it recognize and validate my attempts at normal conversation. The detailed feedback and graphical representation of my speech are amazing.
It has made me comfortable with the sound of my own voice, and never chides me for endless repetition attempts. I even felt more comfortable speaking with my human tutor, a happy surprise. It is new, and I look forward to exciting developments as it has great potential. The developers as with their other products are responsive to suggestions and support. For now it does exactly what I need and cannot obtain elsewise, so five stars from me.

Promising but not quite there yet!

IMHO A lot of good ideas but the execution is lacking!

Love the name!!! SEYO is such a good name :)

And the design is also really on brand but at the same time different. TTMIK’s brand designer needs a raise!!!

Unfortunately those two things are the best things about the app.

The speech recognition experience is not very smooth. The AI voices are awful and very unlike TTMIK to do this! (I find it very surprising they decided to use AI voices when their staff is full of ppl with awesome voices!!)
The lessons are grammar focused and the content itself is solid but feels a bit textbookish. Which is not a bad thing at all but personally find it a little dry.

Overall I’d give it a 3/5 but because I’m excited for the improvements and want to show my support I’ll give it a 5/5!

It takes soo much work to make an app and I’m happy that TTMIK is taking chances!

Clean and user friendly

I greatly enjoy using this app to practice speaking Korean for many reasons:
1) the app difficulty level corresponds appropriately to user expertise
2) there are numerous ways to interact with the app including a brief “chat with Seyo” or a longer more intense review consisting of reading/speaking/memory integration components of speech
3) the app provides feedback of each component of the conversation to help improve speech accuracy

I am a long time user of Talk To Me In Korean products and this app is an excellent supplemental interactive tool. It provides helpful feedback and allows me to practice without feeling self conscious. I greatly enjoy this app!
