Description

Seizure Alert: My Medic Watch is a ground-breaking smartwatch app which uses proprietary and innovative algorithms to interpret data captured by smartwatch sensor technologies. By using innovative algorithms, it automatically detects if the wearer has a seizure-like movement and activates immediate emergency assistance.

My Medic Watch provides monthly and yearly subscriptions which include a 30-day free trial.

Seizure Alert: My Medic Watch is designed to be installed on both an Apple Watch and iPhone, paired together. It can be worn by people prone to seizures characterised by convulsions or jerking movements.

Today, more and more people are choosing to live independently, in their own homes, aided by vital technology innovations like Seizure Alert - My Medic Watch, which was validated by medical trials undertaken in Sydney.

Seizure Alert - My Medic Watch is designed to be downloaded to a wearable device. It can be worn by people of all ages who are prone to seizures.

If the wearer does have a seizure, Seizure Alert - My Medic Watch automatically detects it and notifies all nominated caregivers, without the need for manual intervention, providing details of the user’s location. The app can also be activated manually by the wearer if they are feeling unwell and require assistance, simply by pressing a button on their smartwatch.

A FOUR STEPS PROCESS

1. Smart Detection: As soon as a seizure-like movement occurs, Seizure Alert: My Medic Watch detects it using smartwatch sensors and an accurate algorithm.

2. Immediate Alert: The app automatically sends notifications containing the wearer’s GPS location (if available) to designated caregivers, eliminating the need for manual intervention based on escalation workflows.

3. Reassurance for Everyone: All caregivers are sent updates of the progress, keeping everyone informed and reassured.

4. Real-Time Data: Included in the user’s subscription is access to real-time data for all related medical episodes. The user can also choose to give access to his or her doctor, so that their medical data can be reviewed securely, online on the secure My Medic Watch portal. The watch app uses sensors to save and store the user's heart rate.

Thanks to Seizure Alert: My Medic Watch, those with a condition that makes them susceptible to seizure-like movements, can continue to live independently in their own homes, with ultimate peace of mind.

Idea is good

The idea is a good one. What threw me off was when I received a phone call from Australia when I downloaded the app to check it out. I was a little set off about it seemed like I was being hounded but after talking with the nice lady by chat I decided to talk to her. She is trying to help people understand how to use the app. Walked me thru how to test it and made sure I didn’t have any questions. The only problem I found was the seizure alarm went off when I wasn’t even monitoring. It would send alerts to my husband and daughter while they were at work and of course they would freak out. I immediately told them it was a false alarm. Once is ok but it happened several times during the day. If I ended up needing help they would be so used to false alarms they may not take it seriously and where does that leave me ? My watch was on the nightstand last night and I noticed the green light that is usually up against your arm was glowing. I picked up the watch and it immediately set off another alarm. I’ve since learned I needed to log out of the app on my phone for it to shut off on my watch. It was such a mess yesterday that I’ve deleted the app off my phone completely. The whole idea of an app to help you when your in desperate need is a good one but needs some work. Or maybe I do ? Just doesn’t work for me. And now I’m wondering if I will be charged for the call I received from Australia to set it up ? That will not make me very happy.

Thank you for your feedback.
As you have subscribe to the plus plan, we would recommend logging in to your dashboard to see whether alerts are manual ou automatic (see page 38 of user manual).
If they are manual alerts, these are most likely false alerts triggered by touching the face of the watch. As such, we recommend using the theatre mode (see page 46 of user manual).
Please contact us at support@mymedicwatch.com if you require further information.
Thank you, My Medic Watch team

Would Not Recommend.

Great app idea, few things that you should be cautious of.
If for whatever reason, the “patients” heart rate increases it will send a notification that they’re having a seizure.
Well, notification is a strong word. My phone just lit up three times with a push notification saying that my sister was having a seizure and that no one had responded. There wasn’t any noise or vibration and my sound was in and my do not disturb was not activated.
After three attempts of any caregiver not responding it kind of just stops, it doesn’t call anyone when it has numbers and it doesn’t call 911 with the patients location. So if they are having a seizure and worst case scenario you can’t physically see your phone it kind of just leaves it alone until you’re available to look and it may be to late.

Like the Girl Who Cried Wolf

The idea is a great one but it’s too touchy. It goes off all the time and now I’m like the girl who cried wolf. It goes off so much my husband has gotten to where he ignores it, so sometime when I really need help I won’t get it. This thing goes off so much I don’t even notice when it has gone off. I have a job where I move a lot, so sometimes I don’t notice it’s gone off or hear that it’s going off. So, yes, the idea is great but it definitely has problems and can’t and won’t work for a lot of people. I will say it has worked for me too! It has detected a couple of seizures and gone off at the correct time, so it does work, but there are flaws in the system too.
