Entertaining and challenging

I loved this game from the start. The idea is well throughout and executed. Each type of robot, attack, or defense had a special time and purpose to be used. When you realize this, Robotek becomes more like chess than checkers. Rolling better outcomes on the slot reels is a skill that takes time to develop, but it is doable with a little effort.
Simple gameplay makes it great for my young kids too. They love to watch me play and they love to show the game off to their friends.
I would give 5 stars, but the multiplayer mode doesn't work well.
Overall, a great game that has provided me hours of entertainment.

Alllll about luck

Fun game that’s creative and unique. However when you go into this game it’s best to know it’s pure luck. The “guide” says the luck is even and that shield is the best way to go, but it definitely isn’t. I find it much more successful to go for attacks and ignore the middle roll options completely. I tried the shield/hack tactics for a while and while there were games I would win big, a vast majority I would lose due to the AI getting an absurd amount of luck. It might sound like complaining but it’s just a fact, it feels like the game considers having a successful hack far more lucky than a triple roll, and therefore it thinks it needs to give a lot of luck to the AI. While trying shield tactics I’ll constantly have games where I get one successful hack (which are great) but then the AI will have 4x or 5x the amount of triple rolls as I have. Constantly. So in summary: ignore the guide, and try your own ways. And remember it’s luck.

my favorite game as a kid

i loved this game as a kid, everything from the graphics to the music to the easter eggs of messages when certain robots were beaten wowed 10 year old me playing on a HP touchpad. it is a bit of luck but you eventually learn ways to put yourself in the best position to win. triple rolls are almost essential but strategy of using the “rapid fire” at key times is just as devastating to the AI as it is to you when they roll a triple. overall, and i may be a bit nostalgic here, it’s a great game. randomly thought about it today and am re-downloading for the first time in years.
