Remarkable Text To Speech 4+

Opened app and started playing around. Tapped on voices and explored list of options. But every time I selected a voice, it would dismiss the menu and the default voice would remain selected. Feels broken.

Previewing voices worked, but super confused how to select a different voice. I want to like it, I love the collection, but the credit system along with clunky UI gives me worry.

If you tap on the voice name (not the preview/play button), it should select that voice and then show that chosen voice when you're back at the snippet edit screen. If that isn't happening I would love to help you resolve this issue. Can you reach out to me at support@cromulentlabs.com? Thanks.

Some of the paid voices are pretty good, but you need to weed through them to find what you like. Many are as robotic as other software.

It won't export the free system voices, it will play the text but crash when trying to export. Paid voices seem to work fine. I've tried it on my iMac 2007 as well as my Mac Mini (2020) with M1. Same.

I don't mind paying for the good voices, but there are times when I'd like to use one of the built in free system voices.

Thanks for the review. This is a bug that I have now fixed in v1.0.4. If you update to this new version, it shouldn't crash when you try to export the free voices now. In the future, please use the Feedback option in the Help menu to send us an email so we know about these issues sooner. Thanks.

The high quality readers are easy to listen to. But, I could not find a way to simply purchase the app and have one or two high quality readers come with it. Also, the system only loads small files

Thanks for the review. There isn't a way to purchase the app. It is free to use as much as you want with the built-in system voices. The high quality voices cost credits per character and you are gifted free credits when you download the app and more can be purchased in the app under File -> Purchase Credits. There isn't a way to purchase just one voice forever as the service we use to generate the voice files charges us by character. You should be able to load large files and it will ask you if you want to truncate the text or split it up into multiple snippets.
