Exceptional productivity tool!
Fantastic app that has a smooth workflow.
I just dictate my rambling thoughts and the app helps me orgainse it in a coherent logical manner, be it for meeting notes, or project ideas.
The workflow is more conducive to productivity compared to just using ChatGPT. Using plain ChatGPT is like running barefoot, using this is like running with Usain Bolt's sneakers on.
The subscription is a small price to pay for such a wonderful productivity tool.
Nothing modest about the price
The “modest” subscription fee is $3 PER WEEK. Or pay upfront for a year to a brand new app with no history of updates and no reviews for the low low price of $69. Oh yes, pay between $69 and $156 every single year for an app that uses the same transcription function built into your Mac or iPhone. And the “rewrite” feature can be accomplished with Chat GPT, for free. I’m not opposed to supporting small developers but when did they get so greedy, and for such a simple app that simply sits on top of existing APIs made by others.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience with the app. Just a few corrections
1. Using built in transcription: We dont use the built-in transcription. The app runs Whipser model from OpenAI locally. This is far more accurate than the current state of in-built dictation. You can also chose 3 different variations depending on how accurate you'd like the text.
2. Pricing: The app in all its history was never priced at $156. The maximum is $69 for the yearly subscription. This is roughly 5$/mo after apples margin and before taxes. 5$ is split between Govt taxes, LLM fees, development and salaries and seemed like a fair price.
3. ChatGPT: We use a combination of models typically higher than what is offered through a free ChatGPt subscription. We also use a few advanced techniques like Chain of Thought often running the transcript multiple times through an LLM to get better results.
The Mac app was originally designed as a companion app for the iOS app ( which also has a lot more positive reviews). By users requests we have worked and made the Mac app work standalone and while the updates historically were far apart we have been working on the Mac app which is now on par feature wise with what is offered on the iOS app.
There was also a significant effort in building local transcription, real time voice activity detection to support live transcriptions etc.
