Description

Reading Hero is the only reading app that makes a game out of sight word reading, while providing real-time feedback! We use voice recognition to tell if a word was read correctly, and give feedback with audio recordings from a real teacher! The app uses DOLCH words, which is a research-backed collection of the most common words in the English language (used by schools across the country to assess reading proficiency). The difficulty of the DOLCH words increases as you complete each level.

It is ideal for children ages 4-8 (pre-K to third grade) who are learning to read, or English learners of any age. Best of all, it is completely free, and has zero advertisements! Created by teachers, for anyone learning to read.

Reading Hero

Wow!! What a great app. I was a teacher for 30 years with children with reading difficulties. Especially those that are more visual learner than auditory. I would use a stack of hand made cards with the dolch words on them. Would loved to of had this app when I was in the classroom.

Great for kids

Perfect for teachers to use if they have access to iPads in the classroom. Self-correcting when the teacher is not there!
First grade would enjoy with their large bank of words
Excited to see if letter rec/numbers comes out to use in K!

Easy and straightforward.

A great simple app go improve reading skills. As a suggestion: think of variety. The reading word in 50 seconds can become pretty boring with time. Keep up the good work.
