It was a normal day at work.

    Walked cherrypup around block twice.

I’m laying on couch playing Alan Wake 2.

Tomorrow evening I have a meetup event I’m hosting with a longtime member.

No walk with woman in group at dog park. She had car issues.

I’ve realized that keeping a stable connection with someone of opposite sex in group is harder than it looks. Meet someone that I might not see them for a while. I was hoping that being a host would help but it hasn’t worked out. Talk to member about events then get silence.

I’ve been reading your posts for quite awhile now. I hear you and feel for you my friend. I don’t really know you, but you seem like a very nice guy.

Maybe you’re too nice? Maybe you’re trying too hard? Maybe you should try playing hard to get? Maybe you shouldn’t show too much interest right off the bat? How about letting them chase you for once? Some women like a man who’s confident, assertive, sure of himself, that shows interest in her, but doesn’t show her all his cards. It’s kind of a cat and mouse game. If they’re interested they’ll let you know. If their not, just move on

I’m not saying that’s the right way, it is just my way. Honestly, I didn’t do that bad. Just advice and offering some help

Thanks for feedback Jack Mine! I don’t feel that women in this group would come after me as someone I’ve met ignore me. For example one woman I met on Wednesday didn’t like how men flock to her like a vulture. She pointed out that I didn’t do that. Later on she message me in Facebook saying she enjoyed convo and getting to know me.

I’ve been hosting more events in hopes that will lead to meeting women in group. I eel like my nice guy attitude has helped me that anything because members point it out to me.

Last night after leaving event I gave a woman a ride back into town so she didn’t have to Uber. She appreciated it.

I did feel a bit disappointed from some members that knew this person. They felt I wasn’t going to take her home.

Whew. This stuff isn’t for the weak of heart. I’m 64, was married for 331/2 years, I’m now a widower. I got out a lot but never to any kind of meet ups or organized events, just out watching local bands and watching high school sports. I talk with women some but I have no interest in that silly cat and mouse game that @Jack Mine referenced. Fuck that. I know this doesn’t help at all but maybe find some contentment? Look less and do stuff that’s fun.

I’m out doing fun things like seeing bands perform and dancing. I also attend football watch parties as well.

Just feel this is my only way to meet someone of the opposite sex which has never happened in 50 years of my life. If this doesn’t pan out then I don’t know what I’m going do afterwards.

I did nothing all day. I ordered in groceries and watched Hallmark Christmas movies all day. My cough is worse for some reason so I haven’t talked much.

You need to gargle with warm water and salt. That will help with your sore throat. A few shots of Jack also helps. Jack Daniel’s or Jack Mine, that’s up to you my dear. I hope you feel better soon ❤️

I usually don’t post in here as my life is so boring compared to everyone else's. But what the hell, I typed this up yesterday, and will post it now:

Went to physical therapy and my PT said I made remarkable progress. He said when I first walked in there about 1.5 months ago he thought to himself "this girls gonna need surgery." But he thinks I no longer do. So, that is good.

Then I had a yummy steak dinner with mushrooms, pearl onions, and creamed spinach around 3 PM.

Listened to a lot of good music last night, and watched a concert online.

Was a terrible week actually, but I’m trying to focus on the positive, so I would say all-in-all, it was a pretty good day :)

I totally agree on going to concert. Last one I went to was in July 2023 and haven’t went again. As much as I love concerts it’s hard going alone but I do it anyway. Plus most people don’t like the music I listen to which is hard rock and heavy metal.

I do want to see this band sometime in the near future.

I’m surprised that online concerts are still a thing like it was during Covid. Last one I had to stream from my phone to TV to get full experience.

Do you end up talking to people, etc at concerts when you go alone? I've never gone to a concert alone, although, I did go to see U2 in 3D at an Imax theater by myself in 2008 I think it was, as no-one in my life liked U2 and I loved them. It was very enjoyable. I don't mind doing things alone, but I know most people prefer company.

I will check your videos out later as I'm really tired today and am listening to somewhat mellow Indie music right now :headphone:

If I’m in line waiting for entry to venue then I will talk with people. As soon as concert starts then “no”. I feel that people keep to themselves anytime I’ve been to a concert. Remember one time a woman stared at me like I’m a weirdo.

I understand your love for U2 as I have same feeling about a few bands I like.

Bands I listen to have a lyrics that hit me hard when it comes to life. It’s majority of the time about being a cast out.

No worries on videos. Just thought I would share them.

Sorry you had a tough week, dinner sounds great and fantastic news from your PT. I don’t go to many concerts, I saw Springsteen last year in April. Went by myself, had a blast. Didn’t talk to many people, mostly just one couple in their 70s seeing him for the first time. I’ve seen Paul Thorn a couple times in the last year. He’s an extremely talented singer songwriter in the Americana genre, once with my son and once alone. I’m out virtually every weekend seeing local cover bands, that good enough for me. They’re free, I like free.I’ve become content in my splendid isolation credit to Warren Zevon on the reference.

It was a normal day at work till 1 pm.

Afterwards my home internet went down and it’s still out. Had to take PTO for the remainder of the day.

    Walked cherrypup around block twice.

I’m watching tv and will be leaving in a few hours for meetup event that I’m cohosting with a member. Event starts at 9pm and ends at midnight.

I will be off this Monday for veteran’s day. Have a few things planned to celebrate my time in military.

With my revised work duties, I had a basically do-nothing day, as my two blogs for next week were in the can yesterday, but I did do my errands today, including my supermarket run, so that leaves me a duty-free weekend!

Covid is kicking my patootie. I just watched Christmas movies all day and drank tea.

Today I’m leaving the house for the first time in days to pick up a package from the post office.

It's been great, even though I got precious little sleep - but I had a huge nap to make it up. No chores, although I should have moved some things away from my wooden fence so workers can tear it down and replace it next week. I'll do that tomorrow.

    I just watched movies.

I finished up maybe only my second watching of the delightful Oliver Reed/Diana Rigg flick 'The Assassination Bureau.' Presented right on the borderline between farce and satire, this is an enchantingly enoyable movie, which is set up and executed to set a tone that is irresistable. Sometimes, a bit over-the-top- it is a gleeful treatise on the concept of 'morally good' assassination versus killing done for profit - yeah, yeah, yeah - it's just fun.

Diana Rigg is as engaging as ever, but Oliver Reed, who I have known from his brooding, explosively aggressive roles shows a restrained, gentlemanly and decidedly deft hand at comedy. Telly Savalas played equally well into the tone and feel of the piece with an excellent performance.

Next was a 1984 British crime drama, 'The Hit,' which really had the moral sensibilities of a French or even Italian crime movie, even though it all took place in Spain. A bit different and thoroughly engrossing at every turn, this is a agreat unnoticed movie, starring Terence Stamp, John Hurt, and an incredibly young Tim Roth. Great movie, and certainly not the 'same old same old.'
    upload_2024-11-9_18-27-16.jpeg

Next, I just revisited the Bond film 'A View to a Kill.' I tend to think of the Roger Moore Bond films as the low point in the franchise, but I feel that after 'For Your Eyes Only,' this is the best of the lot. There is limited action buffoonery, which is what I hated about that Bond era, but Cristopher Walken is one of Bond's most interesting and best acted villains and the action sequences are crisp and memorable. Great Moore Bond flick.

    Works for me.

It's been fine. I did most of the chore I have of moving my stuff away from the fence so workman can replace it, then settled in for some flicks.

I finished Van Damme's Maximum Risk for the 2nd time, and it was great! I like JCVD, and this one had a reasonably unique plot for the genre, and we got some of those fabulous Natasha Henstridge titties thrown in for good measure.

Next was Seized, a Scott Adkins action flick with plenty of blood and mayhem, with a teeny bit of 'killer ethics' thrown in. Just watch it for the killing (which is why I did).

Nest was an old gem, the Arthur Penn directed 'Target' (1985) starring Gene Hackman and a very young Matt Dillon as his son. Thoroughly engaging, with a great emotional side as Dillon begins to see the side of his old, boring dad as an ace CIA operative thrown back into action to rescue their kidnapped wife/mother. If I saw it before, I forgot everything. Loved it!
Next was 'The Substitute 4' which was okay enough, but with a fairly ludicrous premise and not enough real action to warrant its watching, although there were several examples of most excellent titties, with one of those belonging to Angie Everhart. Still, I can't recommend.

It was a good Veteran’s day.

    Walked cherrypup around block twice.

Went to Texas Roadhouse to pick up meal voucher then Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. Afterwards I drove to pick up meal voucher for Freddy’s.

Just got back from event put on by financial advisor at local cafe. I’m full from eating too much and it was all on the house.

    I’m laying on couch relaxing.
