Description
PocketLab provides videos, articles, and short quizzes to teach introductory laboratory techniques. While many protocols focus on steps to take in lab, they do not teach how to interact with the lab itself or the technical performance of these steps. PocketLab goes beyond the protocol to teach learners how to engage with the lab itself and achieve high-quality technical results in labs. The quizzes in PocketLab are based on the principle of retrieval practice: that taking a short quiz will actually make a contribution to learning in addition to assessing knowledge.
The following techniques are covered in this iteration of PocketLab:
Lab Equipment
Lab Maintenance
Solutions
Microscopy
BCA Assay
Spectrophotometry
Agarose Gel Electrophoresis
SDS-PAGE
Nucleic Acid Purification
PocketLab is completely free to all users and is owned and managed by Instant Library, a nonprofit dedicated to creating biomedical educational curriculums and delivering them through mobile applications.
