It is because of 5 Vices (Thieves / Chor) sitting in us (Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Pride) that have the duty to keep us in illusion and confuse us by giving us thoughts and keep us away from the God. Gurbani Guru explains, in second mehl (Asa-di-Var) Iknaah Bhaanai Kadhh Lye.. iknaah Maaya vich nivaas i.e. Some by the will of His (Lord’s ) are lifted up / saved out of Maya, while others are made to dwell within it. Then the question arises what words we should speak and how should our actions evoke Waheguru Ji's (God’s) Love.
