Perlego: Your online library 4+

It’s a great website that could be even better!

Overall speaking, I love this website! It makes reading academic literature more affordable and accessible for people like me. Here are a few things that can be improved: 1. the app on ipad isn’t great to use. it feels difficult to navigate. As much as I want to spend more time reading on my phone or tablet when I am on the road, I avoid doing so. 2. please add more books, both the new ones and the old ones!! 3. by any chance that you could make scrolling smoother? 4. some updates need to be made. For example, the career page of Perlego is still shown as “2022 Perlego’s Career Page.” It’s now 2025!

Regarding the areas you mentioned:
1. iPad App Navigation: We’re sorry to hear that the app isn’t as smooth on your iPad. We're constantly working to improve the user experience, and your feedback will definitely help guide us. We’ll keep refining the app to make it easier to navigate.
2. More Books: We like your thinking, and we’re actively working to expand our library with both new releases and classic titles, adding thousands every month! Please feel free to submit book requests anytime; you can find the option to do so in the Help Centre.
3. Smoother Scrolling: At the moment, the limitations you're encountering are specific to PDFs, as they don’t support the same level of customisation for page scrolling. We're actively working on improving this, but the current design doesn’t allow for the more seamless swipe or scroll options that you might expect.
For ePUBs, however, we do offer more flexibility. You'll have the option to choose between scrolling or swiping, which should make navigation much easier and smoother. Additionally, ePUBs won’t get “stuck” on individual pages, and you won’t need to use the small arrows to turn pages.
4. Career Page Update: Great catch! We appreciate you pointing that out, and we'll make sure to update the career page to reflect the current year. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Great premise, but the app needs a lot of work

I really love the premise of this company. I discovered it in college and have never stopped using it since. Unfortunately, the best way to experience Perlego is on a computer. Their website has more features, less glitches, and is overall holds much better experience. I want to love the app, but it is, unfortunately, subpar. My books download and are fine for a while, but after a few days of reading, chapters go missing and the books take forever to load. The interface is a bit wonky to navigate as well. Despite all this, I’ll still keep using Perlego. It’s been such a help in saving money and in exploring new titles and authors. I hope the app does improve!

Great selection of academic texts, but buggy interface..

Perlego is a lifesaver if you don't have access to a good academic library. And perhaps even more convenient than one if you do. But the interface leaves a bit to be desired: the scrolling is somewhat buggy, for instance, where the top and bottom margins may stretch; the viewing options are rather limited in many cases; there's no copy or citation option for referencing, etc. So while there's room for improvement, I'm nevertheless very glad it exists!

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! While we work to add these features on the app, you can find a citation generator as well as a copy and paste option on the website. You'll also find the formatting of the book you're reading may be the reason for your limited viewing options. ePUBs will have more settings to choose from. I hope this helps!
