Ratings and Reviews
Nice UI, not so nice features
This has a much better ui than the incontrol app but it changes a bunch of settings on your router when the router is added to the app. This surprised me as I thought this was just an update to the incontrol app since it is so outdated, but it is not. It seems more like a prosumer app if you are not utilizing incontrol or “know” what you are doing with PL products. Whichever way you look at it the look and feel is good but the info provided by it still isn’t as good as what is available on the web ui or incontrol website. I had to delete the routers out of the app and factory reset them to get rid of all the settings this app applied to them that I didn’t ask for and don’t want. A real head scratcher.
Beyond useless
I’m not sure who Peplink is targeting as a user for this app. I suppose if one is fully committed to their “fusion” ecosystem there might be *some* value to this, but even then, this app is janky AH. Quite literally nothing works. Changing sim priority: nope. Looking at your client list (besides wired): nope —even though it shows the count of wireless clients. Viewing logs:nope. Doing quite literally anything even remotely useful: nope nope nope.
It is shocking to me how janky this app is. This is especially so considering how robust and well built the actual router is. I absolutely love the peplink routers, but OMG these apps are beyond useless.
Connection is PITA
Finds the br1 router this phone is connected and accessing internet to but claims it does not have internet. Then just leaves me in an stuck place without support or any clues. I will put the same effort debugging this as Peplink did in their support…nothing.
