Oven Update App 4+

Like the other reviewers, the app doesn’t work at all. Connects to the range fine, but the next button is greyed out. For a company the size of GE, I’m shocked that they haven’t upgraded the app in so long, and I’ve read that in order to get the update app to work, I have to be running iOS 12 OR LOWER.

Now that I know GE doesn’t plan on supporting appliance firmware for more than 5 years, I won’t be buying them again. If you’re thinking of buying a “smart” GE appliance, don’t expect them to support it, so go with something that isn’t GE/haier…

Either update the app, or offer an alternative to update, GE. Very disappointing, and just shows how old GE management is when it comes to technology…. “Make them buy a new one in 5 years..”

I’ll preface this by saying I’m fairly tech savvy and not a user that doesn’t know how to link smart appliances.

Tried to get my remote operation function on my GE oven to work and had no problem linking to my ovens WiFi network to update its software, however once I link to the network and switch back to the app as instructed, the next button remains greyed-out, preventing me from progressing with the mandatory update, making it impossible to use the remote operation functions.

So after many emails back and forth with th GE connected appliance team I was able figure it out. My iPhone version is not compatible with the update and was told that it had to be iOS 12 or lower. My phone is on iOS 14 and the app update was released on 11/4. Anyway, I was able to grab my dinosaur Ipad which has an old iOS on it, download the app and voila! It works on my phone once again. Massive fail on the developers part but this trip back at least 2 iOS updates did the trick
