Description
When electric trains accelerate and decelerate, we can hear some characteristic sounds, which is caused by inverters' controlling the torque and the rotational speed of the motors.
This app simulates the waveforms generated by inverters and sounds coming from motors, and you can also design sounds of imaginary trains.
What’s New
Version 1.7.1
- Fixed an issue with high frequency signal injection.
- Fixed an issue where the dipolar bias in synchronous mode with 3-level inverters is not applied.
Ratings and Reviews
Amazing App
Amazing app i was able to make numerous train propulsions from all around the world by using different frequencies. One suggestion i have however is to give the option to switch between KM/H and MPH
convenient app, but misses key functionality
This app is very convenient because it enables one to create a VVVF pattern without using a PC or PLC. However, it misses the key functionality of imperial units because a large part of the world uses that. Another key functionality it misses is that it does not support high-speed rail because it tops out at 160 km/h, which is only 99.4 mi/h, which is under the Anglo cultural icon of 100 mi/h. So, it is recommended to add miles, mi/h, and mi/h/s unit functionality to the app, so it can be used in the Anglosphere, especially with simulating legacy equipment even for nations that have metricated. It is also recommended to increase the top speed to 515 km/h, which is 320.0 mi/h, so that it can be used for high-speed maglev.
Some Suggestions…
I am not very sure if this is a glitch. The “Random Width” value is 5 by default. However, it remains 5 even if we switch to synchronous (also the Wide-3 mode) modulation. We have to switch to asynchronous mode and change the value to 0, then switch back to synchronous modulation if we want to hear the “pure” sound.
Also, could you please consider allowing us to type speed values instead of using the scrolling feature? For iPhone users, the upper-half of the screen will easily come down while scrolling down the speed value.
Overall, this is a great app!
