Openvibe – Open Social App 17+

The app looks great and is easy to use, but refreshing or reopening it jumps to the latest posts, which isn’t how I want to use these platforms. It should be an option at least.

Not having syncing across iPhone/iPad is tough for me, but I understand it’s challenging for Mastodon and likely not possible with BlueSky yet.

Thank you very much for the review and suggestions for improvement. We are working on better timeline position experience and we want to add sync in the future as well.

I really like this app and it’s my goto app for bluesky/mastodon. It was a little unintuitive to set up (pick your server/domain, rather than type it all out, it seems), but once set up it’s really convenient to have everything in one view. For odd reasons the normal apple shortcut of tapping the top of the screen doesn’t scroll to the most recent posts, but so be it (neither does the bluesky app, but at least it has a dedicated up-arrow)- it’s actually surprisingly annoying, but maybe I haven’t found the official way. Killing the app and restarting?

I wanted to give this a try by reading todays toots and Skeets, but found I can only get a maximum of 10 hours back…and only had toots then, the Skeets ended much earlier. As the App also didn‘t remain at this position, when I went out of it, it‘s still not ideal for keeping up with your timelines, as you would need to catch up a day at least on a consistent basis for that.

It did offer me a way to crosspost, though, and I like the general look and idea. So it has some uses, especially for liveposting during events. But I need a bit more room to scroll back to make it a daily tool for me.
