You may also use OhmPlug smart plugs to get paid for saving energy in conjunction with OhmConnect, a free service that you can sign up for at ohmconnect.com.*

To get paid for saving energy, sign up for OhmConnect’s demand response program and link your utility account here: ohmconnect.com
If you join OhmConnect’s demand response program, your OhmPlug will automatically turn off during OhmConnect energy-savings events for your area unless you program your OhmPlug through the App to remain on or you use your OhmConnect account to opt your OhmPlug out of a specific event.

Mostly works
Seems to work most of the time, although occasionally did not seem to turn on my switch when it was supposed to. Also, with the latest update, it seems like you can no longer see historical electricity use beyond one week, which is a huge disappointment. I was tracking electricity use over weeks and months, and now that historical data is gone! Please bring back this functionality!

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Electricity Usage feature in the OhmPlug app. The database, as of now, only keeps track of usage for 7-day increments. This is something that is being worked on and will be implemented in future versions of the OhmPlug app.
Feature request: Live stats for power consumption
Is it possible to consider deploying live statistics under the power consumption page? Currently we have to click “back”, then click “electric” in order to get have the numbers updated.

Great idea, only works sometimes
The plugs only work for about a month before disconnecting. I think I’m being docked points because their own devices don’t work. Then there’s the cost: most of the winnings cost a lot of points, which I never seem to be able to reach, no matter how many times I leave my devices off. In the one time I have earned enough points to add another Ohm plug to my collection of nonfunctioning Ohm plugs, it never arrived, and I’ve sent multiple messages to customer service with no response. I really, really wanted this to work, but it just isn’t there yet.
