One of the most highly regarded tide apps for iOS comes to the Mac.
“Perfect” “Great” “Simple” “Amazing”
We couldn't have said it better. Thank you.
• Over 3,300 stations on every coast of the US and beyond. (Note: limited support for stations beyond the US and Caribbean)
• Stunning graphics and innovative visualizations to make sense of the information you care most about.
• Tide predictions anywhere anytime. Sophisticated prediction algorithms and decades of data, all included so you don’t need a data connection.
• Interactive Almanac so you can see the future and make your plans.
• Integrated Station Map to get the big picture.
• Make it personal with custom notes and images.
Ratings and Reviews
Must have app for sea shore walks
We live along the Puget Sound and experience 15’ tide differentials. High tide rises to the breakwater rocks making a beach walk impossible. Low tide exposes a beautiful sand beach, but it is short lived, and trying to guess a low tide is impossible because of the variability of the next tide.
This app makes it simple to figure out tides. Just find the closest tide gauge on the map and plan your beach time accordingly and you are set. Plus the almanac allows you to look at the tide tables, sun rise/set & moon rise/set way into the future. If you travel , just change locations.
You can also add the app as a widget on your home screen. This allows you to see the current tide level without launching the app. Just swipe left on the Home Screen.
My only feature request is to make the sun and moon icons larger in the almanac.
Great app.
Good but needs improvement
The iPad version the app crashes every time I try to open details for a station which makes it unusable on that platform. Generally the iPhone version is a good app but it can still be clunky in selecting stations. If I select a station, view the details page w/ tidal graphic and almanac then go back to map, select another station, when I attempt to open the detail page for that station it opens for a second then reverts to the map…it will open properly if I select it again.
Usable but as I said, clunky. The map functionality and the data display w/ graphic and almanac are great and why I keep the app.
What’s next to perfect?
The iPhone version has everything I want, with the bonus of not being data mined. So it’s pretty much perfect. So it can be done. What I’m trying to say is the iPad version has a few things missing, that makes it next to perfect. I’d very much like to see the wind speed, barometric reading etc that is on the iPhone version, added to the iPad version. All the same, thanks for giving us such a great solution for our needs!
