Initially, the Nura-Loops were virtually unusable, due to firmware sensitivity to fit and tap control issues. The long overdue update has fixed many of those problems, but there are two major issues that need to be addressed.

First, phone keypad input is not passed through the audio stream. If you make (or receive) a call over Bluetooth and need to press a keypad button for an auto-attendant, it will not function, within the call. I had a couple of different customer service / tech support calls out to different companies. Rather than wait 30-40 minutes on hold, I chose the call-back option. Upon receiving the call, I received messages that basically stated that if this was a good time and to continue with the call, press 1. I pressed multiple times, before I received a message that since I had not responded, they would attempt another call, later. I finally had to quickly disconnect Bluetooth, prior to answering the call, so that I could enable keypad input.

The second issue (which may be the result of poor instructions) is the inability to trigger SIRI via touch controls. I must remove my phone from its holster and activate SIRI from the phone.

Perhaps adding an additional trigger mode on the buds could be implemented for this, along with additional ear loop controls. A long hold against the left or right bud, instead of taps, would be extremely helpful.

I’m a first time customer, and I have never left a review before in my life but dang I have to. I’ve heard a lot of good things about these earbuds and wanted to try them out too. So straight out of the box the NuraTrue Pro’s will not connect to the app. I’ve followed every suggestion, even trying different phones to no avail. The worst part is that these earbuds rely so heavily on the app. Meaning unless you set it up initially through the app, no music or other media can be played through the earbuds. This renders my over $300 purchase UNUSABLE. AND because this is a small kickstarter company, live support chat isn’t readily available. They say it exists but the option is not there. So the best way to reach them is through email. But they are so flooded with inquiries, that it will take a week or more to hear from them. Meanwhile your stuck with an over $300 paper weight for all that time. To the Nura company, if you see this, please at least make the earbuds usable without the app out of the box, and then for the “best personalized experience” the app can then be used. Every other company does it this way. That way we can still use them in case the app has issues and it will hold us over until the issues have been resolved. Because you guys are small, you need to be more efficient.

I just received my Nuraphones yesterday. While creating my profile and listening to the tests that the headphones conduct to identify your exclusive profile, I must admit that I was kind skeptical, but, after the tests were finished and listened to the finished product... WOW! Was I impressed. They are not reference monitors for making beats, but, they are definitely a game changer for listening to music. I’m an owner of Beats and my favorite headphones “Audio-Technica” and the Nuraphones hace just become my favorite headphones. Noise canceling on these are beyond belief. It did feel kind of weird how it sits in your ears at first, but, after a while you get used to them. If you are looking to buy a pair of solid headphones for everyday use while riding on the train, bus, at home or for whatever you use your headphones for, these are one of a kind. You won’t go wrong on these. They are a must buy! And the payment plans are actually good for those who don’t want to pay $400 at one shot (Well... well worth it).
