Description
The Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) app brings together all the emergency preparedness information Sailors and their family members will need to prepare for and survive an emergency or disaster. It standardizes a method for the Navy to account for, assess, manage, and monitor the recovery process of those affected by a widespread catastrophic event. NFAAS also provides valuable information to all levels of Navy leadership, allowing commanders to make strategic decisions that facilitate a return to stability.
Get up-to-date information on emergency preparedness, local weather and other local emergency situations with notifications and alerts.
The NFAAS app allows users to:
• Report accounting status
• Update contact/location information
• Manage your personal contacts
• Use checklists to help prepare for an emergency
• Use GPS and get turn-by-turn directions to the closest Navy installation
• Learn what to do before, during and after an emergency or disaster
• Watch videos showing you how to update your NFAAS information and why

Ratings and Reviews
It works...
But only because I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it updated itself when I did so - no thanks to the app store/Big Navy for that heads up so you only get 4 out of 5 stars. For those naysayers who discredit the app because it just takes you to a website that can be easily bookmarked, I think it's apparent that the Navy is now talking to an app driven generation and that even the most mundane tasks require this level of concession in order to get the job done. Sad but true...
Marginally helpful
I’d like to be more positive but giving this app 2 stars is being pretty generous. The app itself contains only very basic information and does nothing notification wise we already would be getting from AtHoc. As far as the real function of NFAAS, the app provides you a URL link so that you can log into NFAAS through your web browser. Which you could have done without this app. There’s no real integration between this app and NFAAS.
As useful as anything else the Navy offers
The feature in the app are pretty useless. Can’t update info. Alerts aren’t special and would be sent out elsewhere so the app isn’t needed. It’s basically an app with a link that takes you to NFAAS.
What’s the point of an app? You’d think the Navy would figure something out by now considering most phone and tablets can outperform and are more often and readily used than computers.
